Re: Howard Hughes and dollars and sense

Howard has customarily been depicted by media and other writers as
having been a "money mad recluse>" People who worked for him (i.e.,
Dietrich) claimed that THEIR procedures are the ones that succeded
while his failed. This claim flies in the face of reason, Howard's
known achievements were accomplished by himself. His movies were
outstanding works for the times; he personally advanced aviation all
over the world. While "Lindy" was ballyhooing Goering's luftwaffe as
being invinceable, Howard was making aviation history with record-
breaking personal flights. His continuing developments of hi-tech
metallurgy and oilwell drilling machinery made possible the petroleum
energy supplies in abundant quantities. When he built the mighty
Hercules (largest aircraft ever built At wartime government request)
he was denied "strategic material necessary for its construction--so
he built it of wood from scratch. operations involving unprecedented
size, power assist components and structural integrity..he personally
conducted its first flight, in just over four years from frawing
board to flight..all of this just for a beginning of the incredible
chronicle of the life and times of Howard Robard Hughes. Criticised
for the flight as having covered only a mile at 70' altitude, it is
to be noted that had he flown it to China he'd have been criticized
for not having taken the airship to the moon! The character of the
criticism and those who made it is see when we consider that Hughes
Aircraft Technology made the first moon landing possible!
And on and on in this matter where jealousy, greed and evil stupidity
continues in many circles to try to de-humanize this Great
American. I urge and invite my fellow Americans everywhere to launch
a
a call to bring the perprtrators of this greatest crime in history
to Justice.
