As I stated, I don't really don't know a lot about the tubs
themselves, but the owner is renowned on the internet for being an
out of control jerk. I have saved email messages from him that would
lead most Physcologist to believe they were written by a mad man with
severe mental difficulties. Also he has been banned by most every
independent spa forum.

Suprise...Surprise ....Surpise....It is never ending...You know it
would not be such a big deal if they would just come clean about who
they are, as they are not the innocent doves with pure hearts and
intentions as they portray themselves to be. They never admit that
they sell haven and have a very direct interest and bias in the
slanted views they share. Not to mention that most of what is said is
all horse poo to began with.

I mean this with no intended disrespect but That's laughable and if
you had any real insight you would be embarrassed by such a totally
ignorant statement. Haven spas are nothing more than re-branded and
reworked Phoenix spas that are mediocre at best. Let me say this I
wish the folks at Phoenix all the best and hope they can make though
this trying times. They seem like nice people in speaking to them and
looking at their product at trade shows. Haven spas are nothing more
than what "snake oil" salesmen of the old west were.

A pretty outlandish first statement here in the group. It does suggest
you have an agenda. Care to enlighten us on what it is, or what you are

I do hope its not Haven as someone else suggested. But I am curious to
know. I have no bias against any brand name big or small. Now bias
against the owner of one company, lets call it Shaven, is another
story.

And what is something you are promoting this week?...How novel....
#1 I was really quite shocked when all the others in the top 4 (excluding
Alabama who had an off week) lost, and they were #1. It was even sweeter
throwing Oklahoma University off their high horse of #1! And I haven't been
real popular, but that's ok!!! It has been really fun, giving my 'Hook 'Em"
sign to the one other Longhorn fan on my floor!!!!!
And yes, the Vanguard is still running beautifully and I still absolutely adore
it!!! I actually got promoted 2 1/2 months ago at work, and I have been so
overwhelmed, the tub has been a God send!!!
How's the college student and your beautiful wife? I take it all is well in
Ohio?? Ohio State has done well this season!
Now if only the Dodgers had made it to the World Series! But alas, it's not to
be this year!!!

Need some help. I have a Catalina Spa that has a short in the heater
element. The GFI trips when the unit is turned on. I verified it is
the heater by checking the leads to ground on the heater element which
demonstrated the short. Unit is about eight years old.
I don't know how to disconnect the heater unit. There are two white
couplings that connect the stainless steel assembly to the piping (left
and right side of unit). I have disconnected the power connection and
the 4 bolts that are attaching the unit to the control panel. I
removed the screws from the couplings but they do not seem to move. I
assumed that with the removal of the screws, the flanges would either
pop off or turn to unscrew. They are not doing either. Does anyone
know how this assembly gets removed.

Its sometimes difficult to do so. The outer plastic rings & fascia
should twist off. However, the tube/jet that is affixed to the hole
may require a special "hot tub jet tool".
I would have an authorized repair man come out and give you an
estimate before you start pulling things apart. At the very least you
get some insight to whats needed.

Hi all,
I am hoping some of you may be able to give me some ideas about this
hot tub.
We bought a house with an older hot tub. This is a 4 seater drop in
the deck style. We used it last year but found that we couldnt' get
it to heat up.
It appears to be a bare bones model. The pump is made by Swimquip.
It only has an off and on switch and a heat adjustment dial.
I recently sent the pump in for repairs and told the guy that the
heater wasn't working when we dropped it off. We paid to get the
pump back and he said he changed two switches on it.
We filled it yesterday and are getting very little pressure from it
and after 20 hours it is barely luke warm.
We have primed the pump and we think we have all the air out of it.
Any ideas on what we need to check for?
Thanks,
Nancy
I just installed our 400 series Coleman hot tub. We have a few spinner
jets and most of them do not work. My question is: How do I remove the
jets so that they can be replaced? This tub is a 2000, if that makes a
difference.
We are moving our tub and decided to run the electical under the
concrete and through the floor of the hot tub cabinet. We are ready to
move it. All that need to be done is cutting the hole for the
electical. Has anybody done this? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I have an Aquatic Industries hot tub and I'm working on fixing a
few leaks, thus, I have a few questions.
1. How do you remove a jet? I found one is leaking and I'm guessing
there is a "seal" or 0-ring where it attaches to the tub, but I'm
perplexed as to how to get the jet out.
2. I have a leak at a pump, not the motor. Are there seals there,
or do I have to buy a new pump?
3. What's the best way to fix a leak at a manifold? Should I expoxy
it all over to seal it, or cut it out & replace it with a new one?
Of course, since everything is covered in the blown-in
insulation, it makes working on this thing a lot of fun!
4. Where's the best place to get parts for hot-tubs? Any
experience with the online vendors?
Thanks for all your help!

Joe, I'm glad you posted right away, when I approved your membership, I thought,
hmm, that is one brand I haven't heard of. (Even though, I'm the moderator, I
am just another user) If you don't get any answers about that company, it might
be worth opening th door and looking for brand names on the controller, and
pumps. Many such tubs use common parts and you can receive a lot of help here
with that info. Iam curios to see if anyone else has heard of this one.
Hi all,
I'm brand new to this club and hot tub ownership. I picked up an
approximately 10 year old Aquatic Industries hot tub. The tub itself
is in great condition, and I'm in the process of rebuilding the outer
wood shell as well as building a deck around it.
I've not been able to find any info about Aquatic Industries hot
tubs anywhere. It seems that company, or one with the same name,
makes bath whirlpool spas now. I know they made hot tubs because I
can order a cover for it.
Does anyone own an Aquatic Industries hot tub? Anyone have any
information on them? Can anyone point me toward a location for
manuals, etc.?
Thanks for your help!

--Thank you for your help Linda , we are doing all of these things
already, althouh we are using both bromine and ozone. The ozone
generator runs all the time. the bromine is in tablet form. We use
the Rendevous weekly system for the most part.
The foam goes away after the pumps run for a couple minutes.
The tub is a Baja PSX1044.
We use a flushing solution before we drain it and scrub down the
inside of the tub each time as well.
We are going to drain, clean and refill it per your instructions this
weekend and report back next week. Thank you for your help...Tim

Tim, Well there are alot of variables that will cause these conditions and
without all the
details it is hard to diagnosis. When you combine bromine ( I image you are
using tablets?)
it is a high oxidizer as is ozone. when the combination is used, you can cause
minerals in
the water to drop out of solution and cause a cloudy condition. We do not used
bromine
with ozone in our spas, but our ozone systems run 24/7 so they do a great job
without a
residual chemical in the water. How long does your ozone generator run daily?
We recommend you follow these steps. Refill your spa. LET THE WATER HEAT AND use
a
Metal Gon product to pull out the minerals/metals. Run filter for 1/2 hour and
clean your
filters with a spray filter cleaner to remove any minerals from them.
Balance the alkalinity and pH before adding any other sanitizers to the water.
If you need a back up sanititzer, can you switch to powdered bromine or a shock
agent
like Enhanced?
If you find cloudiness returning, use a weekly clarifier, it should remove all
of that.
REfill your spa every 4 months.
Hope this helps.
-We have been using bromine since the beginning, the people at the
place we bought it suggested that maybe a combination of our local
water chemistry and the sanitizers we use combined with the ozone
generator are the problem, I notice that the display spas in their
showroom don't have the ozone generators turned on,that makes me
suspicious.

Tim, In order to help you, I need to know what else you are using in your spa?
What is the
sanitizer you are adding with your ozone system? Did you change anything besides
putting
the ozone back in the spa?
Ozone should not cause foam ( bromine will) . I can try to help once I know the
other
products you are using. Lynda
Hi all, just wondering if anyone else had this problem. Our ozone
generator failed, while the new one was on order, we noticed that the
water was crystal clear for the first time since we got the spa. I
installed the new ozone generator and now the water is slightly foamy
and not so crystal clear. I thought ozone was supposed to keep the
water clean. any help would be appreciated, thanks Tim
Nice setup on the solar. How big are the solar panels? Who makes them and how
much would they cost if you purchased them at retail? Also it sounds like you
are using the solar to heat the water directly. How is the water moved from the
tub to the panels and back?

Subject: [hottubowners] Our Hottub is now SOLAR!
HI All! I joined this group over a yr ago because I got two solar water panels
(free) from
someone and really wanted to have our hottub solar powered. Well, it took over
a yr and now
our two panels are on our roof pumping hot water from 7:30am until 2pm. It
gets to 105
degrees each day and then shuts off. By the time we get in it, it is still
very hot for us and we
only run our pump for about half an hour a day instead of four to six hours to
heat up the
tub! Yay for the sun!
