Hi David,
Have had many dealings with these kooks. They have even gone as far
as to threaten me and mine.
I will not sit by.
You are to be commended on your work.

Some people wonder why postings are moderated on this Yahoo Group?
Well there is a group of people out there trying to shut down sites
like this with antiAIDS propaganda and repeated grafitti. "They"
(AIDS denialists) try to post hundreds of messages to this board
every month alone! They have attacked our http://www.HIVforum.com now
for over 3 years, they spam our chats, try to tell our members to
quit medicines and many other carzy tatics. BEWARE!

AIDS apologists are those who know HIV leads to AIDS (proven by
science, so much scientific proof) and we are defending the
scientifically known fact that viral pathogenesis and progression
of 'HIV to AIDS' causes the eventual need for combination therapies
to prolong life.

What are AIDS dissidents? Find out who, what, where, when and why:

What are AIDS denialists all about? See the myths exposed:

with lots of hand on stuff and knows alot of HIV and how to deal with
it would be great. I would appreciate your responses.

Hello everyone,

My name is Dave. I have been positive for 3 years now and in good
health. I have maintained a undetectable viral load since 2 weeks of
starting my meds and my CD4 count has never been lower than 383 and
has been as high as 650.

I worked for a Forture 500 company for 3 years and left the company
to start my own business. I am a consultant for my former employer.
I have been self employed for 18 months now and currently have health
insurance with United Healthcare as a group plan. The coverage is
currently in COBRA and is due to expire April 30, 2004.

I am so fustrated attempting to secure a new health insurance
policy. I tried to obtain another group plan through SASE an
organization for the self employed. I received a call back from my
representative and she announced that they would not be able to cover
me. The insurer was Mega Life and Health. I called Mega Life today
just out of curiosity to find out why they declined covering me since
I have an existing policy. They did not have me on record. Livid as
I was, I called SASE to find out why they hadn't submitted the
application to Mega Life and let them decide. Internally they "felt
it wouldn't be approved" due to being HIV+. Nothing in their
underwriting guide which I reviewed when I signed up had any
stipulations or restrictions regarding HIV or AIDS. I have requested
my application back and I will send it to Mega Directly for their
answer.

In the meantime, I am told with my current "pre-existing condition"
purchasing an "individual" policy they will not cover me for the pre-
existing condition for 12 months even though I currently have valid
health insurance that has been in force for over 4 years
consecutively. I thought if I can prove a previous policy was in
force for their exemption period, they would waive the pre-existing
condition clause.

Hi everyone,

So, I hate to ask this, but I need your help with something. I work for an
Internet HIV prevention project. We are in the process of developing a
questionnaire that will reach everyone (before we were targeting gay or bisexual
men). We here have been through it so much that it looks great to us, but may
not to people who haven’t seen it before. Would you all be willing to take a
look at it and give me feedback? You can just post the feedback in the group,
and I will be able to get it from there. We want to make sure that it works for
people who are positive, negative, gay, or bisexual men, straight men, and
straight women.

A little rationale for the survey is that we will use the information
ultimately to design interventions that can be used on-line for prevention
purposes. That is why we want it to be the best possible survey we can design.
In the short-term, we need the survey so my professor can submit a grant to have
the funds to get the ball rolling. We want to be able to provide good sites to
help men and women with health issues, specifically HIV/AIDS.

Here is the direct link

http://www.wrapp.net/mens_internet/mens_internet.htm

Here is the website link and there is a banner at the bottom of the main page
that will take you there too.

http://www.wrapp.net

I am also always looking for suggestions on the website.

Thanks so much,

Margaret

Well Michael!
Nice thoughts but this isn't exactly what I though of as retirement. I've
been diagnosed poz for 14 years and probably been poz for at least 3 years
prior to that. This is not a easy retirement for most, it's strugglin with
what little disability provides and hopefully you have the love and
assistance to get you through the rest.
Take care and have a great New Year

We in some respects are the "lucky" ones though! We can take an option to
retire early and do those things that are really important to us in life.
We have an opportunity to reflect and prepare; to do much soul searching, to
actually REALIZE that we are indeed mortals on this earth. It would seem
that often people live as though they think that they will live forever. We
can get things in order, demonstrate love to those who are meaningful in our
lives, and live each day as though it might be our last.

Life within and of itself is TERMINAL. It is my choice to believe that in
many ways I am no more terminal than any other mortal roaming this planet.
HIV disease and the toxic medications used to "treat" it are NO picnic
though. There are of course many, many other terminal illnesses among us,
some even more quick and painful than HIV in fact. Sadly we must realize
that death is just a part of living and comes to all living things.

As the Bible says, "Without HOPE we are of all men most miserable". Yes, of
COURSE we know that probably HIV will be our surmise, but not necessarily so
since we could in fact "go" from any number of other ways. Our HOPE is that
there will be better medications that will effectively control and hold at
bay the virus that is currently thriving within us. Our HOPE is that one
day there might be a "cure". Our HOPE is that we won't get run over by a
semi on our way to the market, lol hahahaha.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me today!

A forever friend, Michael in Texas

IM A LITTLE CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT I READ ON THE INTERNET. IT APPEARS TO ME
THAT MOST PEOPLE HAVE HIV FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS BEFORE AIDS KICKS IN. SO HOW IS
HAVING HIV NOT A DEATH SENTENCE....?

CRIMINALS SENTENCED TO THE DEATH PENALTY USUALLY GET A STAY OF EXECUTION
OF 12 YEARS OR SO DUE TO APPEALS BEFORE THEY ARE PUT TO DEATH. SO BASICALLY
SOMEONE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR A CAPITOL CRIME WILL BE ON DEATH ROW LONGER
THEN THE TIME IT WILL TAKE ME TO ACQUIRE AIDS AND DIE.....! I REALIZE SOME
PEOPLE REACH THAT LEVEL OF AIDS (BELOW 200 CD4) AND BOUNCE BACK. BUT THAT IS
RARE AND MOST SEEM TO DIE AT THAT STAGE.

IM NOT TRYING TO BE NEGATIVE, IM JUST TRYING TO BE A REALIST. I HAVE READ
20-30 DIFFERENT ARTICLES FROM DIFFERENT WEB PAGES AND THEY ALL SAY THE SAME
THING. CONSIDERING THAT THERE IS NO CURE FOR AIDS HOW IS THIS NOT A DEATH
SENTENCE....?

I KNOW I COULD WALK ACROSS THE STREET TOMORROW AND GET HIT BY A BUS. OR
GET CANCER AND DIE IN 3 MONTHS. BUT THAT IS UNLIKELY. IF I WAS SUPPOSED TO
LIVE TO 80 YRS. AND I WILL PROBABLY DIE IN MY EARLY 40'S (IM 32 NOW) I WOULD
AY THAT IS A DEATH SENTENCE.

PEOPLE HAVE WROTE ME AND STATED THAT HIV IS NOW MORE OR LESS CLASSIFIED AS
A CHRONIC DISEASE LIKE DIABETES VS. A DEATH SENTENCE...? IF THAT
CLASSIFICATION IS A RESULT OF ME LIVING 10 YEARS VS. 3-5 YEARS LIKE DURING
THE MID TO LATE 80'S THEN THAT'S A CROCK OF SHIT IN MY OPINION.

LIKE I SAID, IM NOT TRYING TO SOUND NEGATIVE. I JUST DON'T WANT PEOPLE AND
DOCTORS TELLING ME THAT ITS RAINING AND MY SHOES ARE GETTING WET WHEN THEY
ARE PISSING ON ME. I WANT THE TRUTH.

THERE ARE PLACES I WANT TO SEE AND THINGS I WANT TO DO BEFORE I DIE. IF I
HAVE 10-12 YEARS BEFORE I CHECK OUT I WANT TO KNOW. I DON'T WANT TO WORK
UNTIL I CROAK. IF I ONLY HAVE A DECADE OR SO LEFT THEN I WANT TO RETIRE AND
DO THE THINGS I MAY NEVER GET TO DO. I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE HAD
HIV. I HAVE NOT GOT MY BLOOD WORK BACK YET CAUSE I JUST WENT LAST WEEK SO IM
NOT SURE WHAT MY NUMBERS ARE.

I WANT THE TRUTH. I DONT WANT IT SUGAR COATED.... IF YOU COULD OFFER SOME
INSIGHT I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

   THANX....

Hello My name is Noel, I am desperatly looking for a friend that I
can talk to and exchange advice or feelings with. I have been POZ for
almost 3 years now, my daughter has full blown AIDS and is doing very
well on her meds right now. With a undetectable viral load and a very
nice CD 4 count. I am struggling with mine though and would love to
talk to someone about it. If some one would like to talk, reply or
email me at dtownchic_22@...

God Bless\
Noel

We in some respects are the "lucky" ones though! We can take an option to
retire early and do those things that are really important to us in life. We
have an opportunity to reflect and prepare; to do much soul searching, to
actually REALIZE that we are indeed mortals on this earth. It would seem that
often people live as though they think that they will live forever. We can get
things in order, demonstrate love to those who are meaningful in our lives, and
live each day as though it might be our last.

Life within and of itself is TERMINAL. It is my choice to believe that in many
ways I am no more terminal than any other mortal roaming this planet. HIV
disease and the toxic medications used to "treat" it are NO picnic though.
There are of course many, many other terminal illnesses among us, some even more
quick and painful than HIV in fact. Sadly we must realize that death is just a
part of living and comes to all living things.

As the Bible says, "Without HOPE we are of all men most miserable". Yes, of
COURSE we know that probably HIV will be our surmise, but not necessarily so
since we could in fact "go" from any number of other ways. Our HOPE is that
there will be better medications that will effectively control and hold at bay
the virus that is currently thriving within us. Our HOPE is that one day there
might be a "cure". Our HOPE is that we won't get run over by a semi on our way
to the market, lol hahahaha.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me today!

A forever friend, Michael in Texas

IM A LITTLE CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT I READ ON THE INTERNET. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT
MOST PEOPLE HAVE HIV FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS BEFORE AIDS KICKS IN. SO HOW IS HAVING
HIV NOT A DEATH SENTENCE....?

CRIMINALS SENTENCED TO THE DEATH PENALTY USUALLY GET A STAY OF EXECUTION OF 12
YEARS OR SO DUE TO APPEALS BEFORE THEY ARE PUT TO DEATH. SO BASICALLY SOMEONE
SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR A CAPITOL CRIME WILL BE ON DEATH ROW LONGER THEN THE TIME
IT WILL TAKE ME TO ACQUIRE AIDS AND DIE.....! I REALIZE SOME PEOPLE REACH THAT
LEVEL OF AIDS (BELOW 200 CD4) AND BOUNCE BACK. BUT THAT IS RARE AND MOST SEEM TO
DIE AT THAT STAGE.

OR GET
CANCER AND DIE IN 3 MONTHS. BUT THAT IS UNLIKELY. IF I WAS SUPPOSED TO LIVE TO
80 YRS. AND I WILL PROBABLY DIE IN MY EARLY 40'S (IM 32 NOW) I WOULD AY THAT IS
A DEATH SENTENCE.

PEOPLE HAVE WROTE ME AND STATED THAT HIV IS NOW MORE OR LESS CLASSIFIED AS A
CHRONIC DISEASE LIKE DIABETES VS. A DEATH SENTENCE...? IF THAT CLASSIFICATION IS
A RESULT OF ME LIVING 10 YEARS VS. 3-5 YEARS LIKE DURING THE MID TO LATE 80'S
THEN THAT'S A CROCK OF SHIT IN MY OPINION.

LIKE I SAID, IM NOT TRYING TO SOUND NEGATIVE. I JUST DON'T WANT PEOPLE AND
DOCTORS TELLING ME THAT ITS RAINING AND MY SHOES ARE GETTING WET WHEN THEY ARE
PISSING ON ME. I WANT THE TRUTH.

THERE ARE PLACES I WANT TO SEE AND THINGS I WANT TO DO BEFORE I DIE. IF I HAVE
10-12 YEARS BEFORE I CHECK OUT I WANT TO KNOW. I DON'T WANT TO WORK UNTIL I
CROAK. IF I ONLY HAVE A DECADE OR SO LEFT THEN I WANT TO RETIRE AND DO THE
THINGS I MAY NEVER GET TO DO. I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE HAD HIV. I HAVE
NOT GOT MY BLOOD WORK BACK YET CAUSE I JUST WENT LAST WEEK SO IM NOT SURE WHAT
MY NUMBERS ARE.

I WANT THE TRUTH. I DONT WANT IT SUGAR COATED.... IF YOU COULD OFFER SOME
INSIGHT I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

   THANX....

   B

Hi every one i'm a jamaican male hiv+ who did some research on child
birth between 2 positive parents and to my surprise the risk are
next to 0 depending on how u look at it.

well there are meds now they give pregnant mothers that are + so the
child is not infected and since both parents are already positive
well you know. yes there is that factor of reinfecting but it your
dream is to have a child like me then it is worth it. if there is
any females interested please e-mail me at nakia_intern@...
and lets get this ball on the road. or if you need more info get at
me...until next time. p.s. i would be a great father, being a
teacher of the arts and all.

With the owners permission, I would like to introduce your members to
my new group for poz individuals in Pennsylvania.

Hi All,

I just started a "new group" for Poz individuals in the Chester and
Delaware Counties, Pennsylvania area, but all are invited to join.

This group is NOT in the ADULT area which makes it easier for
individuals to access for a number of reasons.

It is more of a support, information and social gathering group as
opposed to just advertising for sexual partners.

You might want to check it out to see if you are interested in
joining.
