I had asked if I would want to go anywhere after surgery and most of the replies said I most likely wouldn't feel like it. I made no plans- and boy were you all right!!! I was in a good amount of pain the first week and very uncomfortable with the splints. It felt so great to get the splints out after a week, and I finished my antiobiotics, but today the doctor called me. Apparently they couldn't find my lab cultures after surgery, but now have. I guess they are pretty bad, lots of stapp and streph and other stuff. I have been feeling crappy yesterday and today- pain in cheek bones and forhead bone. Last night I was using ice packs for pain, and I'm almost 2 weeks out from surgery. The crud in my nose is thick mucus/blood clots. It's made me really stuffy and congested, and I can't get it out unless I cough and hack it out and spit it. I know that's gross, but I keep having blood clots draining down the back of my throat- it's really annoying and taste bad. How long does that last???
