Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone had ever used steroids (a pill for 6
days) and how well did it work? How long did it take to work? I have
chronic sinusitis, had a horrible infection from July 1st that just
started to get better the end of Septmeber,I was on Augmentin for 10
weeks which killed my stomach, but lost 20lbs :) which was nice, then
BAM! One day I wake up with a throat infection (white patches that
seem to be increasing by the day) ear infection, swollen glands, and
of course another sinus infection. The pain in my throat is
horrible, motrin 800 barely touches the pain. My Dr gave me Avalox (2
days on it now) and a steroid (almost 24 hrs now) The pain is still
horrible and he said not to take any motrin with the steroids, but I
did last night I couldn't sleep b/c of the pain. He said I need to
give time for the antibiotic and steroid to work, but I can't stand
the constant pain. I take Xanax, (which he said was ok to mix) just
to kind of take my mind of the pain because I can't stop thinking
about it. Also, is it true that you cant do the saline rinse with an
ear infection? (I read that on the box of the Netti pot) Thanks for
listening, it's good to vent! I hate to bitch and complain to my
friends and family all the time about how horrible I feel. I'm sure
alot of you have been through worse then I have. Tammy
