I am in a very similar boat. I was on constant antibiotics since
October of 2006 because I was having horrendous sinus headaches
(although I had never had a single sinus infection). The doctor
finally convinced me to have surgery in January of 2007. After that
my life was a nightmare! One infection after another, I finally
switched doctors in March of 2007 and continue to see him. After
revision surgery in November of 2007 things improved but it still
seems as soon as I go off antibiotics I get another infection 2 weeks
later.
In my case, I think part of the problem is allergies. I seem to be
allergic to everything environmental (they wont test me for food
allergies...for whatever reason). I started allergy shots in December
of 2007, but so far they havent helped much.
I even tried a treatment called "N.A.E.T". A combination of
accupuncture and kinesiology aimed at allergy elimination. It was
quite expensive and after several months I didnt feel like it was
helping either so I stopped going.
its extremel frustrating.
