Check with your ENT and see if they can culture you for pseudomonas.  Pseudo can look like tar. When you say you have not been feeling well, can you explain more.

Subject: [helpsinuses] Black stuff in nose??!

Hi everyone.  I've been suffering the last couple of weeks from sinus pressure...however, it's been a different type of pressure.  Usually I get pain in my cheek and eye area, but lately it has been in the head.  I have been irrigating with my grossan  machine and it went away, but then yesterday and today, the pain was horrible!  So, I irrigated twice today...then I just notice black stuff in/coming out of my nose!  When I stick a tissue up it, it looks like I have rubbed mascara or a sooty substance on the tissue.  I irrigated again, trying to clean it out, then when I blew my nose, more black stuff.  What could this be??  I haven't been feeling well at all the last couple of weeks and actually have an appointment with an endocrinologist tomorrow because I was thinking something is wrong with my hormones, but maybe now it's my sinuses??
