Hi Claire,
I could be wrong, but it sounds like you did have an allergic reaction to
that hair coloring process. What I bet happened is that the lining of your
sinuses (the mucosa) swelled up (just like other things swell from
allergies) and it gave you that massive headache. That can be some of the
worst pain imaginable. Its the story of my life...that feeling. What I do
for the pain is heat up a moist washcloth in the microwave for about 30
seconds and put it on the spot (make sure its not too hot). The moist heat
makes blood flow to the area which is the ONLY thing I have found that
helps. (kind of like when you bang your arm or whatever and have to rub it,
to get blood flow to the area). Sometimes if the reaction is REALLY BAD (THE
SWELLING), then the sinuses are too swollen to drain, hence a sinus
infection. I hope this helps you.
