Hi everybody,
I hope you had a very nice Easter/Passover. I was so thrilled to have
a response to my e-mail. It is so great to know that maybe through my
experiences with sinusitis, I can help others. Rhinoflow is a
nebulizer for use with solutions for irrigation or apparently
antibiotics. My ENT prescribed it for me. Here in Canada I obtained
it from a company that provides oxygen equipment. I believe it can be
bought on the internet but I am not sure of the site. Does anybody
know? I use it with a hypertonic saline. I read a journal article
that suggested that hypertonic saline helps to draw out secretions
better than normal or regular saline. It means it has more salt
content in the solution. I long ago found a recipe on how to make it.
Here it is:
6 ounces lukewarm tap water
Approximately 1/4 teaspoon salt (preferably "plain salt" without
iodine or the other added ingredients found in regular table salt)
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
I make up the solution and keep it in a covered container for one
week.
With regard to the question about my medication "Neurontin", this is
a medication that is used for epilepsy and also in Canada for chronic
pain. It has helped me immensely. I don't know if it can be
prescribed for pain in the U.S. It has been a livesaver for me.
Before I used it, my sinus headache pain was very bad and with this I
only feel pain when I have an acute infection and the pain is not
nearly as bad.
I wish everybody well.
