I too am a sinus sufferer
I've had allergy and sinus problems all my life. I get severly congested
and suffer from pain, dizziness (from congestion in my ears,)
grogginess, etc. No fun. I'm on various allergy and sinus medicines,
but thus far the only surgery I've had was to correct a deviated septum.
The surgery was about 6-7 months ago, and it really hasn't seemed to do
much in the way of helping me. Sometimes it gets so bad that all I want
to do is sleep and then I get depressed, which doesn't help anything.
Doctors can't find much that I'm allergic to now, though as a kid I was
allergic to dust, grass, feathers, molds, and a host of other stuff.
It's frustrating, because everything gets worse when the seasons change
so I'm pretty sure that there are allergies involved. In fact, the
doctors don't seem to do much of anything (outside the deviated septum
surgery) but throw medicine at me. Right now, I take Flonase,
Guaifenessin, and Clarinex.
I also suffer from chronic prostatitis. And here's the weird thing that
doctors refuse to explore or even believe; when my sinuses finally drain
and my head is feeling better, that's when the prostatitis starts. It's
almost like all the drainage goes "down there" and causes problems. This
has happened enough times that I know it's real and not just a
coincidence. And almost never do I suffer from both at the same time.
My problems are triggered by season changes, changes in the pressure
(ie: when it's about to rain,) dogs, pollens, pollution, and just about
anything else my body thinks it should react to.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe
