i have been taking allergy shots for the past 2 years, i can say that they have helped me out a lot.
i was suffering from allergic rhinitis from the past 5 years and the usual medications of nasal sprays containing anti-histamines and other medications
like allerga were not giving enough relief.
two years ago, i took allergy tests (pin-prick method) and it turned out that i was allergic to grass pollen and dust mites. also the tests showed that i was allergic to a number of foodstuffs like maida(i dont know the english name for that but its the refined flour from which noodles and other foodstuffs are made), wheat, channa(bengal gram) etc.. therefore my allergist recommended me to stop eating these food stuffs and to start taking allergy shots.
within a month of starting the allergy shots, my health improved drastically.
therefore from my own personal experience, i would recommend that you start taking the allergy shots.

Although your story was a bit difficult to follow, the question @ the
end was not. I take allergy shots & they are totally painless but, I
am not allergic to "everything under the sun", rather, just 1 or 2
molds, trees, grasses, most allergy docs would not even recommend
shots, however, to shut up my ENT's, I take 'em just so they won't
say "Have you tried allergy shots?" This way, I can say "Been there,
done that, now what?" Also, they're covered under insurance.
