-Yes it is very possible to have a sinus infection and not have a
clogged nose. sometimes the nose is so swollen that everything drains
down the back of the throat instead of thru the nose.
It's technically not your ear canals that are clogged, it is your
middle ear, and if the mucous has filled that up, nothing over the
counter can clear it out thru the ear, the tympanic membrane is a
barrier between the middle ear and the canals. The only way to
eradicate the clogged middle ear is to take care of the sinuses,
antibiotics plus steroids, or try a nasal irrigation, or steroid
nasal spray (perscription)
My sons sinus infections lasted more than 8 months, and that was with
countless rounds of antibiotics.
You really should get to a dr. if you can, as then you could at least
get some steroid nasal spray to open up your nose, and hopefully get
your sinuses draining!-- In helpsinuses@yahoogroups.com, Joshua Noyes
