Hi Daniel, first you should know that I own Autoimmune Therapies, so of course
hookworm are the best thing in all the world :-).
I do not have experience of Ovamed's therapy as a patient, nor did I have
Crohn's, my
diseases were asthma and allergies.
So the only portion of your question I can comment on is relative cost.
Hookworm remain in a human host for an average of five years, but that average
is the
result of a variation of from three to seven years with some cases of fifteen
years.
So, at the low end at the doses you are using Ovamed would be cheaper using your
math,
but at the average lifespan the hookworm would be. There is no way of knowing in
advance how long they would remain within you.
Because we have only been treating people since September our patients are not
yet in
remission for Crohn's, it takes 45 weeks to get to that point according to the
Nottingham
study.
On the subject of fatigue and low weight, is that the result of your crohn's not
being in
complete remission or is it a side effect of the ovamed therapy?
Hookworm therapy causes fatigue, but it is episodic and stops no later than 8-12
weeks
after inoculation.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
