Hi Ric, that was a great post, very interesting.

A similar thing happens with Type 1 diabetes, you can read about it in some

At least, it sounds similar. Immune cells infiltrate the pancreas for some
reason and start
killing the insulin producing cells.

Type 1 diabetes has been shown in the same paper and others to be completely
prevented by
helminth infection. The problem is identifying a type 1 diabetic before they
develop the
disease.

By the time they manifest clinical symptoms it is too late, the cells are gone.
