| Hi Julie, I have tachy-brady syndrome and was diagnosed 2 years ago having suffered with arrhythmias for over 5 years.. It was difficult to try and find medication to control it as some moments your heart is extremely fast then it changes to being to slow and you feel dizzy so taking drugs to reduce the heart rate made me even slower than I would generally go and I felt even worse so I have opted to be drug free. I can generally get my heart rate to slow when it goes fast by lying down (sometimes it can take a couple of hour), controlling my breathing, which I have learned via yoga and relaxation techniques and most importantly I have a freezer drawer full of bags of ice cubes as I sit it on my chest to reduce my temp.as when I'm fast I am also extremely hot so I think the ice cubes help "shock" my heart abit into reducing...I hope this helps I can only tell you what experience has taught me throughout the years, I believe mines is also connected to my hormones as pre-period is a def.time I have to watch out for..I am actually still lying on my bed as my heart is fast this morning but it will eventually decide to calm down! :( I so wish for a cure for this condition as it has changed my life dramatically. Please feel free to contact me if your sister wants to discuss things further... KInd regards and best wishes to your sister. Kathleen --- On Mon, 30/3/09, Julie@... <Julie@...> wrote:
