Hello All,
I have just joined this group hoping to find a bit of help and advice on my
condition. Last May I was admitted to hospital with a heart rate of 170bpm which
didn't settle after many hrs It was terminated in the hospital by valsalva,
blowing into a syringe as hard as I could to try to move the plunger. This was
very effective and I left the hospital the next morning. After a visit to the
arrhythmia clinic and an essentailly normal ecg I have been diagnosed with SVT
and AVNRT.
I have not had any further bouts of this rapid heartbeat but in the last 2
months have found my heart skipping beats, very regularly over a few days.Last
month they seemed to disappear after a few days but around the same time of the
month this month they have started again.?
I have heard that it could possibly be hormonal. Are these missed beats common
with SVT and AVNT?
Although I have read many things saying they are harmless and also have a
doctors note in front of me assuring me that these ectopic beats are a normal
part of my heart rhythm is that still true when they are so frequent?
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Jackie
