Kev: I had similar symptoms more than a year ago and after a lot of
humming and arring at the local hospital, I was transferred to the
Northern General in Sheffield, which has a top notch specialised
cardiac unit. There, they found I was too clogged up for a bypass or a
pacemaker. So they fitted va defibrillator which also serves as a
pacemaker and is very adjustable.
Tweve months on, after a lot of experimenting with its settings and
with beta blockers, I am feeling much better - for someone who, the
cardiologist said to me, had a heart that was "knackered."
Try not to allow them to experiment with medication - ask about a
defibrillator. It's a big step but it worked for me.
