Hi There,

Just joined a couple of days ago but now seems an appropriate time to
post my first message as I am currently having an "episode" as I type.

I have had a few minor and the occasional "serious" ones in the past
over the last few years but they usually start during the day, can be
re4lated to stress and poor diet and come on suddenly with both high
(180-200+ bpm) plus palpitations, fluttering, dizziness and all,the
other fun things that happen.

This time is different as it has begun at night (on three occasions
although the first two settle down after a while) and the last one
started about 5 hours ago. Whilst my blood pressure is up and down my
heart rate isn't overly excessive abut no matter what I have done the
damn irregular beat won't go away!!

Usual other symptoms are present. I wondered if anyone else has had
this and what they have done about it. I am loathed to go the the
hospital (I live in Spain and they can be expensive) but if it doesn't
settle down in the next few hours I may do just that.

I am on a beta blocker and whist it may have controlled the heart rate
its done nothing for the arrhythmia.
