I'm sorry I can't help with that one, all I know is my dad was a regular blood donor and he now can not give blood because he has a pacemaker, it might be worth going on to the blood donor web site?

Is anyone aware of any written guidelines as to how long you should
wait after an ablation before being able to donate blood? I spoke to a
Doctor at the blood centre who after asking several questions agreed to
put me back on the active list (my ablation was performed in November
2007). However when I tried to donate blood the next day another
Doctor said I should wait for at least 12 months to allow the 'fibres
to heal'. I know they have the donor's best interests at heart but I'm
keen to donate and don't see that I have any other choice but to wait
another 5 months. I just wondered how long other people have waited
before donating.
