Benefits of Flax seed in Heart Disease and Cholesterol Lowering

Benefits of Flax seed Its high content of alpha linolenic acids has
made the ancient flax seed become our modern miracle food. Alpha
linolenic acid is a type of plant-derived omega 3 fatty acid, similar
to those found in fish such as salmon. Benefits of flax seed as shown
in many studies include lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol
(the Bad cholesterol) levels. Other benefits show that flax seed may
also help lower blood triglyceride and blood pressure. It may also
keep platelets from becoming sticky therefore reducing the risk of a
heart attack.

Other benefits of flax seed :

Aside from alpha linolenic acid, flax seed is rich in lignan. Lignan
is a type phytoestrogen (antioxidant) and also provides fiber.
Researches reveal that lignan in flax seed shows a lot of promise in
fighting disease -- including a possible role in cancer prevention
especially breast cancer. It is thought that lignan metabolites can
bind to estrogen receptors, hence inhibiting the onset of
estrogen-stimulated breast cancer.

Recent studies also showed positive benefits of flax seed oil in IBD
(Crohn's Disease and Colitis). Flax seed oil seems to be able to heal
the inner lining of the inflamed intestines.

Moderately include flax seed in your diet. Indeed, a lot of food
products contain flax seed such as bread, cereal and bakery goods.
Bakers may use flax seed flour or include flax seed in baking.

Ways to include flax seed in home cooking Sprinkle ground flax seed on
your cereal and salads. Substitute flax seed mixture for eggs in home
baking such as muffin and pancake (1 tbsp milled flax seed, plus 3
tbsp water = 1 egg). Final products will have less volume and taste
grumpier Include in other recipe when nutty flavor is preferred
Substitute flax seed oil for other oils

The Goji Berry from high in the Tibetan Himalayas:

Goji has been found to be the most nutritionally dense nutritional
source on the planet! Scientists were amazed to discover that these
unique Goji berries contain:

B-Complex Vitamins 19 Amino Acids 21 Trace Minerals including
Germainium More Protein than even Whole Wheat More Vitamin C than
Oranges High natural content of Vitamin E 4 Unique Polysaccharides
More Beta-Carotene than Carrots High source of Carotenoids Nick
named the Happy Berry for Mood On and on!

The Goji Berry (Lycium Barbarum): has been used in traditional
Tibetan medicine for centuries! The plants grow like bushes with
vines that reach over 15 feet. The berries are never touched by hand
as they will oxidize and turn black if touched while fresh. They are
shaken onto mats, then dried in the shade. Goji berry juice can be
used in smoothies or juice cocktails. The Goji fruit contains
polysaccharides, which have been demonstrated to strongly fortify
the immune system. This same polysaccharide has been found to be a
secretagogue, that is, a substance that stimulates the secretion in
the pituitary gland of human growth hormone (HGH), a powerful innate
anti-aging hormone. It is the richest source of carotenoids,
including beta carotene (more beta carotene than carrots), of all
known foods or plants on earth! Goji is a powerful antioxidant and
is traditionally believed to fortify the body against disease and to
provide the energy to overcome difficult obstacles in healing. Beta-
carotene can be transformed into vitamin A under the influence of
human liver enzymes. Being rich in trace minerals, Goji Juice
contains significant amounts of zinc, calcium, germanium, selenium
and phosphorus, plus small quantities of many others.

The Goji berry is among the most revered of sexual tonic herbs in
Asian Herbalist Forums and has been recognized to increase sexual
fluids and enhance fertility. In Mongolia it is commonly used by
first trimester mothers to prevent morning sickness. It is a gentle
and soothing fruit that is loaded with available vitality.

In several study groups with elderly people Goji was given once a
day for 3 weeks, with many beneficial results being experienced. 67%
of the patients ` T cell transformation functions tripled and the
activity of the patients' white cell interleukin-2 doubled. In
addition, the results showed that all the patients' spirit and
optimism increased significantly, appetite improved in 95% of the
patients, 95% of the patients slept better and 35% of the patients
partially recovered their sexual function. The Goji berry has
absolutely no toxicity. However like most fruits, it should not be
used if you are suffering from Spleen deficiency with dampness and
diarrhea. Goji is now being used in clinical settings for a number
of common maladies including the treatment of consumptive disease
accompanied by thirst such as early-onset diabetes and tuberculosis,
dizziness, blurred vision, and chronic cough. In the treatment of
diabetes. 8-10 grams of fruit was steamed and eaten each time, three
times daily (steaming softens the fruits). The daily dosage range of
8-30 grams is typical of medical applications being done at this
time in several countries. The berry has also been used in a number
of recent clinical trials for treatment of bone marrow deficiency
conditions (low production of red blood cells, white blood cells,
and platelets).

The Mongolian Institute of Traditional Medicine reported that Goji
has been used in the treatment of atrophic gastritis, weakened
digestion due to reduced stomach activity. Patients consumed 10
grams of the whole fruits each time, three times daily before meals
for two months and longer with excellent results. Goji Juice
contains 8 kinds of amino acids (six times higher than bee pollen),
of which 8 are indispensable amino acids for the human body (such as
isoleucine and tryptophan). 50% of the each Goji berry's amino acids
are free amino acids. Goji Juice contain 21 trace minerals, (of
which the main ones are zinc, iron and copper) and 500 times the
amount of vitamin C by weight than oranges. Goji Juice is loaded
with vitamin B1, B2, B6 and vitamin E. Mature fruits contain about
11 mg. of iron per 100 grams, as well as glucose, fructose, vitamin
C, beta-sitosterol (an anti-inflammatory agent), linoleic acid (a
fatty acid), sesquiterpenoids (cyperone, solavetivone),
tetraterpenoids (zeaxanthin, physalin), and betaine (0.1%).

Goji Juice is now undergoing intense scrutiny as a cancer drug in
Tibet, Mongolia, China, Japan and Switzerland. It has been found
that the fruit, as well as an extract from its leaves, can kill many
kinds of cancer cells in vitro. In vivo studies and human studies
are proving to be highly promising. Goji Juice contains
approximately 124 ppm of organic Germanium. Germanium has been
demonstrated to have anti-cancer activity. Japanese studies indicate
that organic Germanium is effective in treating liver cancer, lung
cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, and testicular cancer when
combined with other drugs. It has been found to induce the
production in human beings of g-interferon. Interferon can depress
and even kill cancer cells. Germanium possesses the power to take
over the hydrogen ion from cancer cells. Losing hydrogen ions can
cause depression and even death to cancer cells. Besides Germanium,
this berry has other components that act against cancer. These other
components appear to be able to depress or block the synthesis of
the cancer cells' DNA, which interferes with the cells' ability to
divide and thus lowers the reproductive capacity of the cancer cells.

The Goji berry of the Solanaceae family has also been tested as an
anti-obesity drug. Patients were given 30 grams each morning and
each afternoon, made into a tea. Results were excellent with most
patients losing significant weight. Goji Juice is a wonderful and
delicious tonic which have traditionally been used as a blood tonic,
used to nurture the heart, to relieve heart palpitation, insomnia,
forgetfulness and anxiety associated with blood and chi deficiency,
especially when combined with chi tonics.

have been shown to help prevent lipid peroxidation caused by free
radicals. Vegetable Blend (Essentia Blend® & Power Veggie Blend®) The
vegetable ingredients in this blend provide a rich source of
carotenoids, vitamin C and folate. These vegetables contain
lycopenes, sulforaphane, isothiocyantes and indole-3-carbinol which
are known to strongly stimulate the body's natural detoxifying
enzymes.

Antioxidant/Superfood Blend (Antioxidant Supreme Blend®) Free
radicals are believed to play a role in more than 60 different
diverse health issues. Consuming a wide variety of antioxidants from
fruits, berries, herbs and nature's superfoods may be the best way to
provide the body with the most complete protection against free
radical damage.

and rectal cancer, heart disease, diabetes, diverticulitis,
hemorrhoids, colitis, and constipation. Detox Blend (Restorative
Detox Blend®) Resveratrol forms the basis of this important
formulation which will enhance overall purification. Additionally, we

radical damage. Contains constituents that inhibit proinflammatory
enzymes 5-lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase (Cox-2). Protects the liver
against glutathione depletion and lipid peroxidation. Probiotic Blend
(Non-Dairy Probiotic Blend) The intestinal flora is intimately
involved in the body's natural defense system by destroying harmful
bacterial invasion while controlling yeast overgrowth. Beneficial
bacteria aids in digestion and absorption of critical nutrients.
Additionally, these essential friendly flora are needed for proper
elimination.

Beneficial bacteria aids in digestion, absorption of minerals, and
elimination of wastes. Friendly flora lowers cholesterol by enhancing
lipid metabolism. Probiotics help the body fight free radical damage.
Enzyme Blend (Healing Enzyme Blend®) Every healing process depends on
enzymes. Health of the body is completely dependent upon the quantity
and activity of these often overlooked nutrients. Addressing

Chlorophyll

Also indexed as: Chlorella, Wheat Grass

What it does Where found Helpful for Are you deficient? Amount to
take Side Effects & Interactions References What does it do?
Chlorophyll is the substance responsible for the green color in
plants that accomplishes photosynthesis.

Chlorophyll has been used traditionally to improve bad breath, as
well as to reduce the odors of urine, feces, and infected wounds.
Chlorophyll has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound-healing
properties.1 2

Historically, chlorophyll was used for gastrointestinal problems,
such as constipation, and to stimulate blood cell formation in
anemia. Some preliminary evidence suggests that chlorophyll might
help detoxify cancer-promoting substances.3 4

Where is it found? Good dietary sources of chlorophyll include dark
green leafy vegetables, algae (including spirulina and chlorella),
wheat grass, and barley grass. Supplements of chlorophyll as powder,
capsules, tablets, and drinks are also available.

Chlorophyll has been used in connection with the following conditions
(refer to the individual health concern for complete information):

Rating Health Concerns Fibromyalgia

Constipation

Halitosis (bad breath)

Reliable and relatively consistent scientific data showing a
substantial health benefit. Contradictory, insufficient, or
preliminary studies suggesting a health benefit or minimal health
benefit. For an herb, supported by traditional use but minimal or no
scientific evidence. For a supplement, little scientific support
and/or minimal health benefit.

Who is likely to be deficient? Because chlorophyll is not known to be
an essential nutrient, a deficiency does not exist. People who do not
eat plenty of green foods lack chlorophyll in their diets.

How much is usually taken? Optimal levels remain unknown. Chlorophyll
in the amount of 100 mg two or three times per day can be used to
treat bad breath.

Are there any side effects or interactions? No side effects have been
reported with the use of chlorophyll.

At the time of writing, there were no well-known drug interactions
with chlorophyll.

order at : http://store.healingifts.com/cuc3co.html

FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Curcumin C3 Complex is a unique, patented extract of Curcuma longa
root, commonly known as "Turmeric". Turmeric has long been used in
Ayurvedic medicine for centuries, and is a common household remedy in
India. The active constituent is known as curcumin. The Pure
Prescriptions brand stands apart by using 500 mg of patented Curcumin
C3 Complex®, standardized to contain high concentrations of the
herb's active ingredients (curcuminoids) with "Nature's
Thermonutrient," Bioperine, to guarantee optimum absorption. In
addition, Pure Prescriptions infuse their Curcumin with one of
nature's most popular and powerful herbs, Green Tea, for additional
antioxidant protection. Modern research has identified Curcumin to
exert a wide range of health benefits such as:

Promoting increased wound healing* Powerful Antioxidant Properties to
scavenge free radicals* Anti-Inflammatory Actions* Enhances important
detoxification enzymes* Enhanced Heart and Circulatory Health*

What the Experts are saying

"Clinical research studies that have been independently confirmed
make Curcumin C3 Complex® the right choice for my patients," says Dr.
Chad Larson, Director of the Optimal Wellness Center in Encinitas,
CA. "Curcumin C3 Complex® has proven to be unique in its ability to
act not only as a powerful antioxidant but to exhibit exemplary anti-
inflammatory actions. I recommend Curcumin C3 Complex® in my office
for many of my patients."

TURMERIC (Curcuma longa) Parts used and where grown The vast majority
of turmeric comes from India. Turmeric is one of the key ingredients
in many curries, giving them color and flavor. The root and rhizome
(underground stem) are used medicinally.

Turmeric has been used in connection with the following conditions :

Indigestion

Rheumatoid arthritis

Anterior uveitis (chronic)

Atherosclerosis

Bursitis

Genital herpes (topical)

HIV support

Inflammation

Low back pain

Osteoarthritis (in combination with boswellia, ashwagandha, and zinc)

Pre- and post-surgery health

Historical or traditional use (may or may not be supported by
scientific studies) In Ayurvedic medicine, turmeric was prescribed
for treatment of many conditions, including poor vision, rheumatic
pains, and coughs, and to increase milk production. Native peoples of
the Pacific sprinkled the dust on their shoulders during ceremonial
dances and used it for numerous medical problems ranging from
constipation to skin diseases. Turmeric was used for numerous
intestinal infections and ailments in Southeast Asia.

Active constituents The active constituent is known as curcumin. It
has been shown to have a wide range of therapeutic actions. First, it
protects against free radical damage because it is a strong
antioxidant.1 2 Second, it reduces inflammation by lowering histamine
levels and possibly by increasing production of natural cortisone by
the adrenal glands.3 Third, it protects the liver from a number of
toxic compounds.4 Fourth, it has been shown to reduce platelets from
clumping together, which in turn improves circulation and may help
protect against atherosclerosis.5 There are also test-tube and animal
studies showing a cancer-preventing action of curcumin. In one of
these studies, curcumin effectively inhibited metastasis
(uncontrolled spread) of melanoma (skin cancer) cells.6 This may be
due to its antioxidant activity in the body. Curcumin inhibits HIV in
test tubes, though human trials are needed to determine if it has any
usefulness for treating humans with this condition.7

A preliminary trial in people with rheumatoid arthritis found
curcumin to be somewhat useful for reducing inflammation and symptoms
such as pain and stiffness.8 A separate double-blind trial found that
curcumin was superior to placebo or phenylbutazone (an NSAID) for
alleviating post-surgical inflammation.9

While a double-blind trial has found turmeric helpful for people with
indigestion,10 results in people with stomach or intestinal ulcers
have not shown it to be superior to a placebo and have demonstrated
it to be less effective than antacids.11 12

Preliminary research indicates a possible benefit of oral curcumin
supplementation (375 mg of turmeric extract with 95% curcuminoids
three times daily for 12 weeks) for chronic anterior uveitis
(inflammation of the iris and middle coat of the eyeball).13

How much is usually taken? Turmeric extracts standardized at 90 to
95% curcumin can be taken in the amount of 250 to 500 mg three times
per day.14 Tincture, 0.5–1.5 ml three times per day, is sometimes
recommended.

Are there any side effects or interactions? Used in the recommended
amounts, turmeric is generally safe. It has been used in large
quantities as a condiment with no adverse reactions. Some herbal
books recommend not taking high amounts of turmeric during pregnancy
as it may cause uterine contractions and people with gallstones or
obstruction of bile passages should consult their healthcare
practitioner before using turmeric.15 16

At the time of writing, there were no well-known drug interactions
with turmeric.

Hi Everyone,

Re: ABC's "Primetime" to feature story on gifted healer THURSDAY,
JULY 13, 10PM (EST) in the U.S. and Canada. Adam is a 19 year old
healer and helps people to heal themselves.

I read this young man's book "DREAMHEALER" several years ago when he
was about 15. I think he is very gifted and sincere.

His debut, is supposed to be, on TV Thursday night, July 13, at 10PM
(EST) in the U.S. and Canada should be really interesting.

I say 'supposed to be' because it was not listed among the upcoming
shows and does not fit in with the current format of sensational
(negative) programming.
CMP=google_branded&partner=google&gclid=CIfs-MTv_4UCFQg6GAods1tvjA>

Please check your local TV guide to see when it will be on.

I am surprised that PRIMETIME is featuring such a topic: it includes
the connection between science, spirituality, the Big Bang,
consciousness and reincarnation, our health and ability to heal.
Hurray for PRIMETIME!!

I also think it could help us spread our good news on the Emergence
since they have a "message board" where we can "share our thoughts".
It's under the heading "TALK TO US" (on the right side of their
website)

If the program comes on, please write and give them some positive
feedback for featuring such a 'new age' topic.

THE PATH OF THE DREAMHEALER
My Journey Through the Miraculous World of Energy Healing by Adam

Adam appears to be nothing more than an ordinary 19-year-old college
student, but he has an extraordinary gift: He can heal people and
help people heal themselves. He has rid rock star Ronnie Hawkins of
terminal pancreatic cancer, his mother from the symptoms of Multiple
Sclerosis, himself of a fractured vertebrate, and thousands of others
of a multitude of ailments in person, and from a distance. He's not a
doctor. He's an energy healer. Adam has a special gift that allows
him to see what is affecting a person's health negatively: the energy
blockages that are the root cause of a person's disease. With that
knowledge, he is able to remove blockages and redirect positive
energy to start the healing process. Adam has never used his last
name in public, and never revealed his face on television, until now.
ABC's "Primetime" will feature Adam's story on Thursday, July 13,
2006, at 10PM (EST) in the U.S. and Canada with correspondent John
Quinones reporting.

In his new book, "The Path of the DreamHealer: My Journey Through the
Miraculous World of Energy Healing," (Dutton, July 6, 2006) Adam
Recounts not only his continuing journey to develop his gift, but
shows how Anyone can participate in this process and discover their
own gift of healing. "The Path of the DreamHealer" reveals the
connection between science, spirituality, the Big Bang, biophotons,
consciousness and reincarnation to our health and ability to heal.

"The Path of the DreamHealer" contains the knowledge Adam has
received and learned. Part of his gift is the ability to receive huge
amounts of information intuitively that normally would be acquired
through years of study and research. Many people refer to this
process of "downloading" information intuitively as channeling.

Adam is the author of three bestsellers in Canada,
including "DreamHealer," which describes his techniques,
and "DreamHealer 2," which gives the specific tools to increase our
own healing abilities (Both titles will be available in the United
States from Plume Paperbacks this June and September, respectively).

Adam brings a diverse yet youthful perspective to health and well-
being. Endorsements of Adam's work in healing have been given from
many people including Astronaut Edgar Mitchell and Qigong Grandmaster
Dr. Effie Chow. Dr. Mitchell has been Adam's science mentor since
their meeting four years ago, as Adam sees the healing that he does
being explained within the realm of quantum physics and quantum
holograms. In 2002, Adam had the honor of being presented with
the "Young Visionary Award" at the World Qigong Congress. His website
is full of testimonials from hundreds of people from all walks of
life. His message is simple, yet his journey is one which ultimately
affects us all.

Pomegranates contains the important polyphenol, ellagic acid, gallic
acid and punicalagin. Polyphenols promote antioxidant health, which
helps fight the cell damaging free radicals that can lead to
oxidative stress and the premature aging of cells.*

Our Pomegranate Juice Concentrate is made from California Wonderful
Variety pomegranate fruit. It is 4 times more concentrated in
antioxidants than regular pomegranate juice. Only 1-2 tablespoons a
day are necessary to capture pomegranate's health benefits.

The Pomegranate (Punica granatum) has long been recognized as a fruit
with many health benefits. Pomegranate tops all other conventional
fruits, including blueberry and strawberry, in its ORAC (Oxygen
Radical Absorbance Capacity) value, ranking pomegranate as one of the
most powerful antioxidant fruits.

Pomegranate juice contains a wide range of polyphenolic compounds,
including ellagic and gallic acid, anthocyanins and tannins,

DRUG INTERACTIONS None

CONTRAINDICATIONS None

Main Ingredients

The main ingredients in StressCare are:

Ashwagandha (Latin name: Withania Somnifera) Ashwagandha has been
used for thousands of years as a rejuvenating treatment. It is one of
the best health tonics and restorative agents that have been used to
treat general debility, exhaustion, stress induced fatigue and
insomnia. Studies have shown its rejuvenating effect, particularly
for the muscles and marrow. Various alkaloids and withanoloides in
Withania somnifera have shown impressive results in scientific
testing, two of them as stimulants for the immune system.

Chyavanprash Chyavanprash is one of the best known Ayurvedic
components. It is a complex herbal concentrate that has been the
geriatric tonic par excellence for centuries. Chyavanprash is the
cornerstone of a comprehensive preventive therapy in Ayurvedic
medicine. It is a compound of choice extracts from more than 40
plants and contains a large percentage of Amalaki (Emblica
officinalis or Indian Gooseberry), a very strong rejuvenative which
is a very rich natural source of Vitamin C.

Haritaki (Latin name: Terminalia Chebula) Haritaki is known in
Ayurveda as an adaptogen and anti-aging agent. The fruits are
credited with laxative, stomachic, tonic and alterative properties.
It is also a known adaptogen and anti-stress, hepato-protective drug.

Gotu Kola (Latin name: Centella Asiatica) Gotu Kola or Indian
Pennywort Gotu Kola is famous for improving memory and attention as
well as maintaining microvascular integrity (calming agent). It has
been noted from many studies for its effect on vein structure. French
researchers found evidence that Gotu Kola significantly increases the
production of collagen, the key to the synthesis of the connective
tissues surrounding the veins. Its usefulness has also been claimed
for wound healing. The improved collagen allows brain capillaries to
be protected, thus, increasing mental altertness.

Licorice (Latin name: Glycyrrhiza Glabra) Licorice is a versatile
medicine in both India and China and has been primarily used to
promote gastrointestinal health. It is a mild laxative which soothes
and tones the mucous membranes and relieves muscle spasms. Clinical
studies have proven Licorice extracts to be as effective as many
synthetic alternatives. Licorice is rich in flavonoids and is
currently under intense investigation as an antioxidant and as a
cancer-protecting botanical boosting certain immune functions such as
interferon production. Its mode of action is as an anti-mutagen,
which prevents damage to genetic material.

Arjuna (Latin name: Terminalia arjuna) Arjuna is a heart tonic that
has been used to support cardiovascular functions since ancient times
when it was discovered to have cardio-protective benefits. It has
been used as a tonic for both heart and liver. Recent studies have
investigated the mechanism of this activity and has shown a dose-
dependent regulation of blood pressure and heart rate. There was also
an increase in the HDL-to-total cholesterol ratio and an overall
improvement in the cardiovascular profile. Overall, Arjuna regulates
blood pressure, heart rate and lipid metabolism.

Shilajeet or Mineral Pitch Purified exsudate of mineral origin,
Shilajeet is a balanced general tonic comprising useful mineral and
organic constituents. It is taken to help digestion and with the
assimilation of foods. Shilajeet is often used in combination with
other specific plant decoctions to, for example, support respiratory
and genitourinary functions.

SCIENTIFIC VALIDATION StressCare has been scientifically validated by
many clinical studies. Its formula has been subjected to the modern
scrutiny of clinical testing to prove its benefits in gently
addressing your health concerns, and its quality is controlled by the
most sophisticated chromatographic "fingerprinting" techniques.

Fw: HERBS: The Many Benefits of Stevia (Available at healingifs.com)

The Many Benefits of Stevia
By James A. May

Stevia is sweeping the natural-food industry. Consumers want to use
it,
stores want to sell it and manufacturers want to include it in their
food
and cosmetic products. Unfortunately, very few people know anything
about
stevia, the various forms in which it comes, how and when to use it
or which
forms offer the maximum benefits.

Prior to 1991, stevia was in widespread use in the United States and
several
other countries. In Japan, it was developed by a complex refining
process
into a sweetener called stevioside -- a white powder 250 to 300 times
sweeter than sugar -- which has a 47 percent market share in the
Japanese
commercial-sweetening industry.

In 1984, stevia importers were informed by the Food and Drug
Administration
(FDA) that they could no longer import concentrated stevia liquid
into the
United States for sale as a sweetener. FDA officials did say that
there was
no problem with importing stevia in tea bags for sale as a tea. The
FDA
imposed an import alert on stevia in May 1991, instructing importation
agents to not allow stevia in any form into the United States. The
agency
later relaxed that order, allowing stevia to be imported and sold
only as a
liquid concentrate for skin care. The FDA issued a revised import
alert
Sept. 18, 1995, informing its agents that stevia could be imported
and sold
if, and only if, it was labeled as a dietary supplement.

Good quality stevia leaves, whether whole, cut and sifted or in tea
bags,
are about 30 times sweeter than sugar and have no calories. The best
quality leaves are imported from South America and Mexico, and are
about 12
percent to 13 percent stevioside. The poorest quality, but most ample
supply, is currently coming from China, where the leaves contain only
5
percent to 6 percent stevioside. A simple taste test quickly
demonstrates
the difference.

A few companies are marketing liquid stevia extracts or concentrates.

The water-based concentrates are superior to the alcohol-based
extracts
because they usually contain a greater concentration of the nutrients
essential to the healing activity. Virtually all research performed
with
whole-leaf stevia has been done with water-based concentrates. Also,
alcohol nullifies much of the plant's healing activity on the skin
and the
scalp. The effectiveness of a water-based concentrate depends on its
purity
and the ratio of leaves to water used in the preparation process.

The more leaves to water, the better and more effective the final
product.

In all of its current forms, stevia has a taste unique to itself.
With all
of its sweetness, there is a bitter taste when the leaf, extract or
stevioside powder is placed in the mouth. This bitter taste
disappears, as
does the slight licorice flavor, when the product is appropriately
diluted
in water or another liquid prior to use. The bitter taste comes from
the
leaf veins. The majority of the veins must be removed during the
cut-and-sift process, or the delightfully sweet taste is overcome by a
strong bitterness.

Whether in dry-leaf or concentrate form, stevia has the wonderful
ability to
help the body regulate blood sugar. Several researchers have
reported that,
in these natural forms, stevia seems to correct both high and low
blood
sugar1. Other scientists have stated that stevia appears to lower
blood
pressure, but does not seem to affect normal blood pressure2. Stevia
leaves
and the water-based concentrate are sold in some South American
countries as
aids for people with diabetes, hypoglycemia and high blood pressure.

Research has demonstrated that stevia liquid concentrate inhibits the
growth
and reproduction of harmful bacteria and other infectious organisms,
including those that are a problem for the food and cosmetic
industries3.
Stevia also inhibits the growth of the bacteria that cause gum
disease and
tooth decay, and in many countries it is used in oral-hygiene
products.
Because such products are not yet allowed by the FDA, many Americans
simply
add several drops of stevia concentrate to a small amount of water,
swish
thoroughly in the mouth and swallow. This ability of stevia to
destroy
infectious organisms may help explain why stevia users report a lower
incidence of colds and flu4.

Less known, but no less remarkable, is the ability of water-based
stevia
concentrate to help heal numerous skin problems, including acne,
seborrhea,
dermatitis and eczema. It also has been observed that placing it in
cuts
and wounds brings more rapid healing without the scarring.

This will cause a severe stinging for several seconds, but is
followed by a
significant lowering of pain5. Physicians have reported using stevia
concentrate to heal psoriasis and burns, while others have reported
that it
is extremely helpful in healing various lip sores.

The stevioside mentioned earlier, although more intensely sweet than
the
leaf or concentrate and certainly safe for diabetics and
hypoglycemics, does
not retain any of the healing properties described above. It is far
too
sweet to be eaten by itself, but it is in high demand by consumers
who want
a noncaloric sweetener.

Virtually all scientific researchers who have studied stevia and
stevioside
have attested to their complete safety. Daniel Mowrey, Ph.D., a
renowned
scientist and director of the American Phytotherapy Research
Laboratory, has
written the following:

"Few substances have ever yielded such consistently negative results
in
toxicity trials as has stevia. Almost every toxicity test imaginable
has
been performed on stevia extract or stevioside at one time or another.

The results are always negative. No abnormalities in weight change,
food
intake, cell or membrane characteristics, enzyme and substrate
utilization
or chromosome characteristics. No cancer, no birth defects, no acute
and no
chronic untoward effects. Nothing6.

Stevia is here. Use it, recommend it, sell it and enjoy it.

Details: Tachyonized™ Silica Disks were developed for a variety of
special applications.

TACHYONIZED™ SILICA DISKS

These 4 and 6-inch diameter Tachyonized Silica Disks were developed
for a variety of special applications. As with all Tachyonized Cells,
the Silica Disks are directional, and the energy side is indicated by
the words "Energy flows out this side".

Tachyonized Silica Disks are composed of a pecial silica dioxide
scientifically developed for high-tech industries. The Silica Disks
themselves are very thin and tend to break easily. For this reason
they have been laminated. The lamination strengthens the Silica Disks
and, in the event of breakage, holds the pieces together. If your
Silica Disk does break, it remains completely effective. It is
important that you leave the Silica Disks in the lamination!
Tachyonized Silica Disks raise the life-force potential of anything
placed within their field. Both the 4 and 6-inch Disks have a 15-foot
energy field that flows straight out from the side which says "Energy
flows out this side". It ismuch like the beam that comes off of a
flashlight. Because of this whopping 15-foot field and the 4 or 6-
nch diameter of these Silica Disks you can begin to see that these
Disks are very powerful tachyon antennae. While they have a variety
of special uses they are not intended for use on the body.

Studies show that Tachyonized™ Silica Disks installed over the
circuit breakers of your home or office neutralize the negative
effects of EMFs and, at the same time, improve biological
functioning. These groundbreaking studies also strongly indicate that
when your circuits are protected by Tachyonized Silica Disks, food
prepared with electrical appliances have greater life-force energy.

Circuit Breaker Installation Installing Tachyonized Silica Disks over
your circuit breakers reorganizes the chaotic electromagnetic fields
(EMFs) into a coherent energy pattern that is no longer draining to
your life-force. 1. Open the door to the breaker box 2. Using tape,
adhere the Silica Disks to the inside of the door. The logo that
says "Energy flows out this side" will be facing you. When you close
the door, the energy side will be facing into the breakers. 3. All of
the circuit breakers need to be covered by the Tachyonized Silica
Disks.

Computers It is recommended that you use a Tachyonized Silica Disk on
your computer monitor even if you have Silica Disks on your breaker
box. Simply tape the Silica Disk to the back of the computer monitor
with the side that says "Energy flows out this side" facing into the
back of the computer monitor. Proper placement will have the Advanced
Tachyon Technologies logo facing towards you.

Other recommended uses for the Silica Disks 1. Keep herbs,
supplements, drinking water, etc. on Tachyonized Silica Disks so that
their SOEFs will be charged to their full life-force potential all of
the time. 2. Place Tachyonized Silica Disks under the crisper drawers
in your refrigerator so that everything in the refrigerator is
charged with tachyon. 3. Place a gallon of water on a Silica Disk and
in about 5 hours the water will be charged to its full life-force
potential. This charged water is great for drinking and watering
plants. The Tachyonized Silica Disk is designed to be used outside
the container, whereas the 75mm Tachyonized Energy Cell can be used
either on the inside or outside of the container. 4. Tape a Silica
Disk on the wall or the headboard at the head of your bed, with the
side that says "Energy flows out this side" facing your head. It is
best placed 6 inches above or below the level of the head so that the
energy flows through your energy field rather than the physical body.
There have been reports of complete dream recall after sleeping with
the Tachyonized Silica Disk. 5. Try a Silica Disk in your garden. Put
the Disk in the soil, at the beginning of a row with the side that
says "Energy flows out this side" facing the length of the row. This
energizes about 15 feet of soil, producing stronger, healthier
plants, and increased yield of vegetables or flowers.

The Goji Berry from high in the Tibetan Himalayas:

Goji has been found to be the most nutritionally dense nutritional
source on the planet! Scientists were amazed to discover that these
unique Goji berries contain:

B-Complex Vitamins 19 Amino Acids 21 Trace Minerals including Germainium
More Protein than even Whole Wheat More Vitamin C than Oranges High
natural content of Vitamin E 4 Unique Polysaccharides More Beta-Carotene
than Carrots High source of Carotenoids Nick named the Happy Berry for
Mood On and on!

The Goji Berry (Lycium Barbarum): has been used in traditional Tibetan
medicine for centuries! The plants grow like bushes with vines that
reach over 15 feet. The berries are never touched by hand as they will
oxidize and turn black if touched while fresh. They are shaken onto
mats, then dried in the shade. Goji berry juice can be used in smoothies
or juice cocktails. The Goji fruit contains polysaccharides, which have
been demonstrated to strongly fortify the immune system. This same
polysaccharide has been found to be a secretagogue, that is, a substance
that stimulates the secretion in the pituitary gland of human growth
hormone (HGH), a powerful innate anti-aging hormone. It is the richest
source of carotenoids, including beta carotene (more beta carotene than
carrots), of all known foods or plants on earth! Goji is a powerful
antioxidant and is traditionally believed to fortify the body against
disease and to provide the energy to overcome difficult obstacles in
healing. Beta-carotene can be transformed into vitamin A under the
influence of human liver enzymes. Being rich in trace minerals, Goji
Juice contains significant amounts of zinc, calcium, germanium, selenium
and phosphorus, plus small quantities of many others.

The Goji berry is among the most revered of sexual tonic herbs in Asian
Herbalist Forums and has been recognized to increase sexual fluids and
enhance fertility. In Mongolia it is commonly used by first trimester
mothers to prevent morning sickness. It is a gentle and soothing fruit
that is loaded with available vitality.

In several study groups with elderly people Goji was given once a day
for 3 weeks, with many beneficial results being experienced. 67% of the
patients ` T cell transformation functions tripled and the activity
of the patients' white cell interleukin-2 doubled. In addition, the
results showed that all the patients' spirit and optimism increased
significantly, appetite improved in 95% of the patients, 95% of the
patients slept better and 35% of the patients partially recovered their
sexual function. The Goji berry has absolutely no toxicity. However like
most fruits, it should not be used if you are suffering from Spleen
deficiency with dampness and diarrhea. Goji is now being used in
clinical settings for a number of common maladies including the
treatment of consumptive disease accompanied by thirst such as
early-onset diabetes and tuberculosis, dizziness, blurred vision, and
chronic cough. In the treatment of diabetes. 8-10 grams of fruit was
steamed and eaten each time, three times daily (steaming softens the
fruits). The daily dosage range of 8-30 grams is typical of medical
applications being done at this time in several countries. The berry has
also been used in a number of recent clinical trials for treatment of
bone marrow deficiency conditions (low production of red blood cells,
white blood cells, and platelets).

The Mongolian Institute of Traditional Medicine reported that Goji has
been used in the treatment of atrophic gastritis, weakened digestion due
to reduced stomach activity. Patients consumed 10 grams of the whole
fruits each time, three times daily before meals for two months and
longer with excellent results. Goji Juice contains 8 kinds of amino
acids (six times higher than bee pollen), of which 8 are indispensable
amino acids for the human body (such as isoleucine and tryptophan). 50%
of the each Goji berry's amino acids are free amino acids. Goji Juice
contain 21 trace minerals, (of which the main ones are zinc, iron and
copper) and 500 times the amount of vitamin C by weight than oranges.
Goji Juice is loaded with vitamin B1, B2, B6 and vitamin E. Mature
fruits contain about 11 mg. of iron per 100 grams, as well as glucose,
fructose, vitamin C, beta-sitosterol (an anti-inflammatory agent),
linoleic acid (a fatty acid), sesquiterpenoids (cyperone, solavetivone),
tetraterpenoids (zeaxanthin, physalin), and betaine (0.1%).

Goji Juice is now undergoing intense scrutiny as a cancer drug in Tibet,
Mongolia, China, Japan and Switzerland. It has been found that the
fruit, as well as an extract from its leaves, can kill many kinds of
cancer cells in vitro. In vivo studies and human studies are proving to
be highly promising. Goji Juice contains approximately 124 ppm of
organic Germanium. Germanium has been demonstrated to have anti-cancer
activity. Japanese studies indicate that organic Germanium is effective
in treating liver cancer, lung cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer,
and testicular cancer when combined with other drugs. It has been found
to induce the production in human beings of g-interferon. Interferon can
depress and even kill cancer cells. Germanium possesses the power to
take over the hydrogen ion from cancer cells. Losing hydrogen ions can
cause depression and even death to cancer cells. Besides Germanium, this
berry has other components that act against cancer. These other
components appear to be able to depress or block the synthesis of the
cancer cells' DNA, which interferes with the cells' ability to divide
and thus lowers the reproductive capacity of the cancer cells.

The Goji berry of the Solanaceae family has also been tested as an
anti-obesity drug. Patients were given 30 grams each morning and each
afternoon, made into a tea. Results were excellent with most patients
losing significant weight. Goji Juice is a wonderful and delicious tonic
which have traditionally been used as a blood tonic, used to nurture the
heart, to relieve heart palpitation, insomnia, forgetfulness and anxiety
associated with blood and chi deficiency, especially when combined with
chi tonics.

The TSH Reference Range Wars: What's "Normal?", Who is Wrong, Who is
Right..

From Mary Shomon,Your Guide to Thyroid Disease.

And What Does It All Mean For You and Your Health?

Right now, a battle is waging in the endocrinology community
regarding the
so-called "reference range" for the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
test.
The importance of this controversy cannot be underestimated. The
majority of
practitioners -- including endocrinologists, the physicians who
specialize
in thyroid disease -- rely solely on the TSH test as the primary
test, the
supposed "gold standard" in fact, for diagnosing and managing most
thyroid
conditions.
There is ongoing controversy about whether reliance on the TSH test --
  to
the exclusion of clinical symptoms and other tests such as Free T4,
Free T3,
and antibodies tests -- is medically sound. That is a controversy
that is
unlikely to be decided for years. The situation today, however, is
that the
majority of physicians do rely almost exclusively on the TSH test to
detect
thyroid disease, and monitor the effectiveness of treatment.
Surprisingly, however, while the medical community does rely on the
TSH test
there is complete disagreement within the community as to what
constitutes
the "normal range."
What is a Reference Range?
Reference range is a critical component, and the validity of the
entire TSH
test as diagnostic tool depends on it. A TSH reference range is
obtained by
taking a large group of people in the population, measuring their TSH
levels
and calculating a mean value. Supposedly, these people should be free
of
thyroid disease, so that the level represents the mean TSH of a
typical
thyroid disease-free person in the population. The reference range is
what
determines whether or not thyroid disease is even diagnosed at all,
much
less treated, and when it is diagnosed, how it is treated.
Currently, at most laboratories in the U.S., the reference range for
TSH
tests is approximately 0.5 to 5.0. Depending on the lab, you may seem
some
variations, I.e., 0.4 to 5.5, or 0.6 to 5.7, etc., but generally, 0.5
to 5.0
is considered typical of many labs.
Typically, doctors interpret levels below 0.5 as indicative of
hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid), and levels above 5.0 as
indicative
of hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid.)
Changing the Reference Range
After noticing that patients who had TSH levels in the higher end of
the
normal range tended to go on to develop hypothyroidism more often
than those
in the lower end of the spectrum, researchers delved more fully into
understanding the validity of the reference ranges in use. They found
that
the upper TSH normal range has traditionally included people who have
mild
thyroid disease, and their higher TSH levels skewed the standard
curve,
potentially making the reference range wider than it should be, and
excluding some people who legitimately had a thyroid condition.
These findings led to the recommendation in January 2003 by the
American
Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) that doctors "consider
treatment for patients who test outside the boundaries of a narrower
margin
based on a target TSH level of 0.3 to 3.0. AACE believes the new
range will
result in proper diagnosis for millions of Americans who suffer from
a mild
thyroid disorder, but have gone untreated until now."
In a statement from the AACE, Hossein Gharib, MD, FACE, and president
of
AACE at the time, said, "The prevalence of undiagnosed thyroid
disease in
the United States is shockingly high...The new TSH range from the AACE
guidelines gives physicians the information they need to diagnose mild
thyroid disease before it can lead to more serious effects on a
patient's
health - such as elevated cholesterol, heart disease, osteoporosis,
infertility, and depression."
AACE cited as evidence the guidelines issued by the National Academy
of
Clinical Biochemistry, part of the Academy of the American
Association for
Clinical Chemistry (AACC), and presented in their Laboratory Medicine
Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Monitoring of Thyroid
Disease.
Late in 2002, the group concluded that "it is likely that the current
upper
limit of the population reference range is skewed by the inclusion of
persons with occult thyroid dysfunction." In their guidelines, the
National
Academy of Clinical Biochemistry reported that: "In the future, it is
likely
that the upper limit of the serum TSH euthyroid reference range will
be
reduced to 2.5 mIU/L because 95% of rigorously screened normal
euthyroid
volunteers have serum TSH values between 0.4 and 2.5 mIU/L." They also
stated that "a serum TSH result between 0.5 and 2.0 mIU/L is generally
considered the therapeutic target for a standard L-T4 replacement
dose for
primary hypothyroidism."
>> What Would a Narrower Range Mean for Patients?
And What Does It All Mean For You and Your Health?
What Would a Narrower Range Mean for Patients?
At the time of the announcement, almost three years ago, AACE
estimated that
the new guidelines would double the number of people who have abnormal
thyroid function, bringing the total to as many as 27 million, up
from 13
million thought to have the condition under the old guidelines. These
new
estimates would make thyroid disease the most common endocrine
disorder in
North America, far outpacing diabetes.
The announcement from AACE was seen by many as a long-overdue and
much-needed improvement in the level of awareness of
endocrinologists. After
decades of denying that patients within the normal range of TSH could
in
fact have a thyroid condition, they were acknowledging what patients
and
advocates had been saying quite vocally for years: that the high and
low end
of the TSH normal range were not, in fact, normal for most people.
"...using a TSH upper normal range of 5.0, approximately 5% of the
population is hypothyroid. However, if the upper portion of the
normal range
was lowered to 3.0, approximately 20% of the population would be
hypothyroid
.."
More recently, researchers have looked at an important question: If
the
normal TSH range were narrowed, as has been recommended by AACE and
the
National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry, what are the implications?
One
2005 study found that using a TSH upper normal range of 5.0,
approximately
5% of the population is hypothyroid. However, if the upper portion of
the
normal range was lowered to 3.0, approximately 20% of the population
would
be hypothyroid! According to another study, an additional 12.8 to 16
million
people would be diagnosed with hypothyroidism if the TSH upper limit
was 3.0
and an additional 5.4% to 6.3% of the population --- 10.8 to 12.6
million
-- would be diagnosed as hypothyroid if the upper range for TSH was
2.5.
Clearly, these narrower ranges have huge implications for millions of
people
who are not being diagnosed or treated, because their test results
are being
evaluated according to the old reference range.
Untreated thyroid disease can severely compromise quality of life,
and in
some cases even be fatal. Untreated thyroid disease can cause or
contribute
to numerous debilitating symptoms and conditions, including, among
others:
weight problems and obesity
exhaustion and fatigue
depression and anxiety disorders
heart disease
stroke
infertility
miscarriage
birth defects
Some Experts Adopt the New Range
Interestingly, however, in the past three years, most laboratories in
the U
S., despite what are clear communications from both AACE and the
Laboratory
Medicine Practice Guidelines, have not revised their TSH reference
range,
and remain with the 0.5 to 5.0 range as their "normal range."
Some practitioners have adopted the new range for diagnostic and
treatment
purposes. Some physicians, who are aware of the new guidelines, have,
however, chosen not to follow them, and remain with the older
reference
range. Some of them have made this decision because they do not agree
with
the new range, medically. Others are attempting to "play it safe" and
protect themselves because the laboratories have not yet gone with the
change, and these doctors are reluctant to diagnose a thyroid
condition
unless the printed lab report flags a TSH test result as "high"
or "low."
There are also many doctors, general practitioners and even
endocrinologists
who are still routinely diagnosing and treating patients according to
the
old reference range simply because they aren't even aware of the new
reference range guidelines.
Interestingly, some patients who have asked for physicians to
diagnose and
treat them by the new reference range have been turned down, told
off, or
even fired by their physicians. This has led to even greater
controversy in
the medical community, as doctors are taking sides in the debate over
the
old and new reference ranges.
The Debate Goes Public
In September of 2005, two articles appeared in the Journal of Clinical
Endocrinology and Metabolism, presenting the two sides of the
argument.
Martin Surks, Gayotri Goswami and Gilbert Daniels argued that the
reference
range should remain the same in their article "Controversy in Clinical
Endocrinology: The Thyrotropin Reference Range Should Remain
Unchanged,"
while Leonard Wartofsky and Richard Dickey argued that "The Evidence
for a
Narrower Thyrotropin Reference Range is Compelling."
Surks, Goswami and Daniels base their argument on their assertion
that
because routine levothyroxine treatment is not recommended for
subclinical
hypothyroidism, it is certainly not warranted in individuals with
upper
reference range TSH [TSH 2.5 to 4.5]."
>> Surks and Company Say Don't Change the Range, But Wartofsky and
Dickey
Say the New Range is More Accurate...
And What Does It All Mean For You and Your Health?
Drs. Wartofsky and Dickey argue that the previously accepted reference
ranges are no longer valid because the reference populations
previously
considered normal were "contaminated" with individuals with various
levels
of thyroid disease. They argue that the benefits of treatment far
outweigh
any minimal risks.
Surks, Goswami and Daniels -- Don't Change the TSH Reference Range
How these researchers could come to such a definitive conclusion that
treatment is not warranted for subclinical hypothyroidism is
inexplicable,
given that in the same journal where their research is published, an
article
appeared just a few years earlier that demonstrated that treatment of
patients with subclinical hypothyroidism could help with cholesterol
levels
and potentially reduce cardiovascular mortality risk by 31%. [
TSH-controlled L-thyroxine therapy reduces cholesterol levels and
clinical
symptoms in subclinical hypothyroidism: a double blind, placebo-
controlled
trial (Basel Thyroid Study)," Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and
Metabolism, 2001 Oct;86(10):4860-6]
There is also evidence in the literature that levels above 2.0 during
pregnancy can potentially complicate pregnancy, and that upper level
normal
TSH levels can inhibit fertility. For example, in early 2005, Drs.
Casey and
colleague wrote in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology
that "Pregnancies
in women with subclinical hypothyroidism were 3 times more likely to
be
complicated by placental abruption."
There is also a Norwegian study just published in the International
Journal
of Obesity that found that there is a positive association between
serum TSH
within the normal range and body mass index, and the higher the TSH
level,
the higher the body mass index and likelihood of overweight or
obesity.
These are just a few of the many examples of peer-reviewed literature
in
respected medical journals that discredit the argument that treatment
is not
recommended or warranted for subclinical hypothyroidism. The authors
also
state "The only documented adverse health outcome for individuals
with TSH
levels between 3.0 and 5.0 is progression to overt hypothyroidism.
Levothyroxine treatment would clearly prevent that outcome, but at
what
price?"
However, it must be asked, why is preventing progression to overt
hypothyroidism not a desired health objective, given that overt
hypothyroidism most definitely can contribute to obesity, heart
disease,
depression, infertility, and host of other health problems?
Prevention of disease is a major focus of much of today's medicine,
with
exercise, diet and medications to prevent heart disease, obesity,
stroke,
and many other conditions. Some of these preventative approaches,
particularly drug therapies, come with some risk factors, but the
risks are
presented along with benefits, so patients can make an informed
choice.
Even if there is a small risk to treatment of subclinical
hypothyroidism
(and the existence of such a risk is a theory, not a proven fact)
then why
is this same approach not used for thyroid patients, who could be
given the
opportunity to prevent overt hypothyroidism, realizing that the
prevention
also comes with some risk?
Wartofsky and Dickey: The New Range is More Accurate
Drs. Wartofsky and Dickey defend the shift to the new range, with some
caveats. They say: "We will probably never have an absolutely cutoff
value
for TSH distinguishing normal from abnormal, but recognition that the
mean
of normal TSH values is only between 1.18 and 1.4 mU/liter and that
more
than 95% of the normal population will have a TSH level less than 2.5
mU/liter clearly imply that anyone with a higher value should be
carefully
assessed for early thyroid failure."
"...the decision as to whether to initiate a trial of levothyroxine
therapy
is based more upon the 'art of medicine' at this time than the
science."
In their article, they point to some key facts, including:
In an iodine-sufficient population, the mean TSH is 1.5
In African-Americans with low incidence of Hashimoto's thyroiditis,
the mean
TSH is 1.18, which suggests that "this is close to the true normal
mean for
a normal population"
When people with positive antithyroid antibodies or family history of
autoimmune thyroid disease are excluded from the "reference range"
cohort,
the normal reference range becomes .4 to 2.5
They argue that physicians are practicing a double standard --
considering
one level the "normal" for treatment, but another for diagnosis. The
authors
write:
We are also befuddled by the practice of supporters of the
recommendations
of the consensus panel [the panel that recommended that the reference
range
not be changed] who promote a target TSH range of 1.0-1.5 mU/liter in
patients already receiving T4 therapy, whereas they refuse to accept
TSH
levels of 3-10 mU/liter as abnormal in patients not receiving T4
therapy.
>> What IS Normal, Anyway?
And What Does It All Mean For You and Your Health?
According to Wartofsky and Dickey, opponents of the new range argue
against
treatment for subclinical thyroid problems because they are concerned
about
risks of subclinical hyperthyroidism due to overtreatment. Wartofsky
and
Dickey argue, however, that there is an equivalent risk of
undertreatment,
and that all of these risks can be minimized by educating doctors
about the
desirable TSH target and teaching them how to use various dosages to
reach
those targets in patients. They write:
To us, individual failure on the part of physicians to appropriately
monitor
levothyroxine therapy and adjust doses is not a rationale to withhold
the
indicated therapy. We find the reluctance of the consensus panel to
consider
treatment for mild TSH elevations puzzling when it is most likely
that they
would not argue with the wisdom and rationale for early therapeutic
intervention to mild diabetes mellitus with slight, but definite,
elevations
in blood glucose, mild elevations in low-density lipoprotein
cholesterol, or
mild elevations in blood pressure. After all, few endocrine disease
states
appear suddenly in an "on or off" or "black and white" manner.
Rather, the
disordered physiology must start at sub-intense level and then will
have the
potential to progress from mild to moderate to overt or severe. Just
as we
have revised downward our concept of normal range blood pressure and
cholesterol, we new now should consider the evidence for doing so
with TSH.
Given the wealth of data on the abnormalities present in untreated
subclinical hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism and the demonstrated
benefits
of therapy to date, we are not disposed to have our hands tied by the
deficiencies inherent in analyses of this issue by evidence-based
medicine
and allow our patients to continue to be at risk as a consequence."
They also conclude their article with what may be the most sensible
statement of both arguments:
"...the decision as to whether to initiate a trial of levothyroxine
therapy
is based more upon the 'art of medicine' at this time than the
science."
What's Normal, Anyway?
There is also an argument regarding whether or not fluctuations with
the
normal range -- by whichever standard, old or new -- represent thyroid
dysfunction on an individual basis. Danish researchers found that each
person tends to have what's known as a "set point," a particular
level of T4
T3 and TSH that their body wants to return to automatically. We then
tend
to maintain thyroid levels around that set point, within a narrow
range -- a
range much narrower than the "reference range" for normal used by
laboratories for testing.
Because each of us has a distinct set point for TSH, T3 and T4
levels, the
general population references ranges are in fact too broad to detect
changes
to thyroid function that may represent disease in an individual.
The Danish researchers concluded that:
The distinction between subclinical and overt thyroid disease is
somewhat
arbitrary because it depends to a considerable extent on the position
of the
patient's normal set point for T3 and T4 within the laboratory
reference
range...In conclusion, we found that individual reference ranges for
serum
T3 and T4 are about half the width of population-based reference
ranges.
Hence, a test result within the laboratory reference limits is not
necessarily normal for the individual.
>> What Does it Mean for You? What Should You Do?
And What Does It All Mean For You and Your Health?
What this all means for you is that--
1. Your doctor probably is still using the old reference range of 0.5
to 5.0
for diagnosis and management of your thyroid disease
2. You should not accept the answers "normal," "high" or "low" as a
report
of your blood tests. Instead, ask for the actual numbers and ask for
the lab
s normal range. Better yet, ask that a copy of your blood test report
be

Fish Oil Holds Promise in Alzheimer's Fight
from U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

More Good News About Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Fish IS Brain Food
Even our grandmothers told us fish was "brain food" -- and now
scientists have evidence to back the claim.
Researchers with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the
University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) found that a diet high
in docosahexenoic acid, or DHA -- an omega-3 fatty acid found in
relatively high concentrations in cold-water fish -- dramatically
slowed the progression of Alzheimer's disease in mice. Specifically,
DHA cut the harmful brain plaques that mark the disease. The results
appear in the March 23 online edition of the Journal of Neuroscience.

Therapy that is Easily Available
Senior author Greg M. Cole, Ph.D., a neuroscientist at the Greater
Los Angeles VA Healthcare System and UCLA, said that unlike many
studies with mice, this one points to the benefits of a therapy that
is easily available and already touted for other medical conditions.
DHA -- either from food sources such as fish and soy, or in fish-oil
supplements -- is recommended by many cardiologists for heart health,
based on scores of previous studies.
"The good news from this study is that we can buy the therapy at a
supermarket or drug store," said Cole. "DHA has a tremendous safety
profile -- essentially no side effects -- and clinical trial evidence
supports giving DHA supplements to people at risk for cardiovascular
disease."

About the Study
The new study involved older mice genetically altered to develop
Alzheimer's disease. The researchers fed one group of the mice DHA-
fortified chow. The control mice ate a normal or DHA-depleted diet.
After three to five months -- the equivalent of several years in
human biology -- the high-DHA group had 70-percent less buildup of
amyloid protein in the brain. This sticky protein makes up the
plaques, or patches, that are a hallmark of Alzheimer's.
A similar study by Cole's group published in Neuron last fall showed
that DHA protected against damage to the "synaptic" areas where brain
cells communicate and enabled mice to perform better on memory tests.

The studies, say the scientists, suggest that even people who are
genetically predisposed to the disease may be able to delay it by
boosting their DHA intake.

Omega-3 Deficient Diets
Omega-3 fatty acids, typically deficient in the American diet, are
essential for human health. DHA in particular is vital to proper
brain function, as well as eye health and other body processes. In
recent years epidemiologists have tied fish-rich diets to a lower
incidence of Alzheimer's disease and homed in on DHA as the
preventive factor. Omega-3 fatty acid supplements are now being
tested in clinical trials with early-stage Alzheimer's patients in
the United States, Canada and Sweden to see if the therapy really
slows the disease.
Food sources of omega-3 fatty acids include fish such as salmon,
halibut, mackerel and sardines, as well as almonds, walnuts, soy, and
DHA-enriched eggs. Concerns about mercury contamination in fish have
helped popularize purified DHA supplements based on fish oil or
algae.

A Spice that Works Too
Last year, Cole's team identified another nutrient that appears to
combat Alzheimer's plaques in mice: curcumin, the yellow pigment in
turmeric, one of the spices that make up curry powder. Researchers
became interested in curcumin's potential to prevent or treat
Alzheimer's disease after noting the low prevalence of dementia among
the elderly in India, where curry is a staple.
Cole is the associate director for research at VA's Los Angeles-based
Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center, and a professor of
medicine and neurology at UCLA. Lead author for the new study was
Giselle P. Lim, PhD, a UCLA postgraduate researcher in Cole's group.
Working with them were colleagues from VA, UCLA and the National
Institutes of Health. The study was supported by the National
Institute on Aging, VA, the Alzheimer's Association, and the Canadian
Institutes of Health Research.

My Opinion: This study gives hope for prevention of Alzheimer's
Disease. DHA and Omega-3 fatty acids are so essential to our health,
that we really need to think more about eating more foods like
fish, "omega-eggs," walnuts, soy, pumpkin seeds, and flax. Since no
side affects are apparent other than the "fish burps" you may get
from taking supplements, I suggest that anyone who has a family
history of Alzheimer's should go ahead and take fish oil, flax oil,
or DHA supplements.

What are they?
These are blood tests which check for signs of inflammation caused
by illnesses such as chronic infection, auto-immune diseases and
some cancers.

In order to try and fight invading infection or disease, the body
responds be becoming 'inflamed'. As well as possibly affecting the
normal blood cell count, other proteins in the blood are affected
and it is these that we can test.
Sometimes the body 'misreads' its own cells and starts to fight them
as if they were foreign. This is called an auto-immune reaction and
can be measured by the same tests - as well as by specific tests to
see which cell, or part, is being attacked.
The tests detect the effects of illness and are also used to monitor
its progress and the success of treatment in controlling the
inflammation.
The tests may be a general test of proteins affecting the thickness
of the blood plasma, such as PV and ESR - or may be a specific test
for certain proteins such as PSA for prostate disease.
Preparation tips
You may be told to not eat, or to avoid certain foods, before the
test.
You should be certain that you've taken your medication as
prescribed.
Unless told not to, have a snack or drink beforehand to avoid
feeling faint.

Test Normal range Abnormal results indicate:

C-Reactive protein (CRP) < 10 mg/l A protein which interacts with
the bodies 'complement' system, part of the immune system, CRP
measures acute inflammation.

High: Auto-immune disease such as systemic lupus, inflammatory
arthritis such as rheumatoid, rheumatic fever, TB, heart attack, and
malignancy. Also high at the end of pregnancy and with the oral
contraceptive pill.

Plasma Viscosity (PV) 1.5 -1.72 mPa

High: Chronic disease such as inflammatory arthritis, auto-immune
diseases, later stage malignancy (including secondary spread)
myeloma and macroglobulinopathies, increases PV to 1.75 -2.00. PV
Rises normally in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) Male 0-20 mm/h
Female 0- 30mm/h

High: General test for all types of inflammation, not diagnostic of
a specific condition. Useful where the symptoms are vague to
establish the cause is inflammatory.

Prostate specific antigen (PSA) < 4 µg/l High: Prostate cancer,
although can be raised in other prostatic disease

Auto -immune profile

The normal is negative

Gastric parietal cell, Reticulin, Mitochondrial, Smooth Muscle Liver
& Kidney microsomal, Anti-Nuclear factor are the commonest proteins
checked for. A positive result indicates auto-immune disease
relevant to that factor.

Health Care Agency which is located in Fort Lauderdale. Before I had no idea how
complicated professional caregiving can be. Now I am learning something new
everyday. Managing vulnerable people's life in order to satisfy their medical
and health needs is not an easy job. Helping them and being next to them,
whenever you are needed, is a quite big responsibility. So far, which is over 6

Lymph Nodes -- The lymph nodes function as an immunologic filter for
the bodily fluid known as lymph. Lymph nodes are found throughout
the body. Composed mostly of T cells, B cells, dendritic cells and
macrophages, the nodes drain fluid from most of our tissues.
Antigens are filtered out of the lymph in the lymph node before
returning the lymph to the circulation. In a similar fashion as the
spleen, the macrophages and dendritic cells that capture antigens
present these foreign materials to T and B cells, consequently
initiating an immune response

Lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes are the parts of the special
circulatory system that carries lymph, a transparent fluid
containing white blood cells, chiefly lymphocytes.

Lymph bathes the tissues of the body, and the lymphatic vessels
collect and move it eventually back into the blood circulation.
Lymph nodes dot the network of lymphatic vessels and provide meeting
grounds for the immune system cells that defend against invaders.
The spleen, at the upper left of the abdomen, is also a staging
ground and a place where immune system cells confront foreign
microbes.

Pockets of lymphoid tissue are in many other locations throughout
the body, such as the bone marrow and thymus. Tonsils, adenoids,
Peyer's patches, and the appendix are also lymphoid tissues.

Both immune cells and foreign molecules enter the lymph nodes via
blood vessels or lymphatic vessels. All immune cells exit the
lymphatic system and eventually return to the bloodstream. Once in
the bloodstream, lymphocytes are transported to tissues throughout
the body, where they act as sentries on the lookout for foreign
antigens.

Bone Marrow -- All the cells of the immune system are initially
derived from the bone marrow. They form through a process called
hematopoiesis. During hematopoiesis, bone marrow-derived stem cells
differentiate into either mature cells of the immune system or into
precursors of cells that migrate out of the bone marrow to continue
their maturation elsewhere. The bone marrow produces B cells,
natural killer cells, granulocytes and immature thymocytes, in
addition to red blood cells and platelets.

How the Immune System Works
Cells that will grow into the many types of more specialized cells
that circulate throughout the immune system are produced in the bone
marrow. This nutrient-rich, spongy tissue is found in the center
shafts of certain long, flat bones of the body, such as the bones of
the pelvis. The cells most relevant for understanding vaccines are
the lymphocytes, numbering close to one trillion.

The two major classes of lymphocytes are B cells, which grow to
maturity in the bone marrow, and T cells, which mature in the
thymus, high in the chest behind the breastbone.

B cells produce antibodies that circulate in the blood and lymph
streams and attach to foreign antigens to mark them for destruction
by other immune cells.

B cells are part of what is known as antibody-mediated or humoral
immunity, so called because the antibodies circulate in blood and
lymph, which the ancient Greeks called, the body's "humors."

Certain T cells, which also patrol the blood and lymph for foreign
invaders, can do more than mark the antigens; they attack and
destroy diseased cells they recognize as foreign. T lymphocytes are
responsible for cell-mediated immunity (or cellular immunity). T
cells also orchestrate, regulate and coordinate the overall immune
response. T cells depend on unique cell surface molecules called the
major histocompatibility complex (MHC) to help them recognize
antigen fragments.

Spleen -- The spleen is an immunologic filter of the blood. It is
made up of B cells, T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, natural
killer cells and red blood cells. In addition to capturing foreign
materials (antigens) from the blood that passes through the spleen,
migratory macrophages and dendritic cells bring antigens to the
spleen via the bloodstream. An immune response is initiated when the
macrophage or dendritic cells present the antigen to the appropriate
B or T cells. This organ can be thought of as an immunological
conference center. In the spleen, B cells become activated and
produce large amounts of antibody. Also, old red blood cells are
destroyed in the spleen.

WHERE IS IT LOCATED ?

Shaped much like a loose fist and tucked under the left side of the
diaphragm, the spleen is the most ignored and misunderstood of all
organs. After all, we read numerous times that someone in an
automobile accident or a fight has a ruptured spleen so the spleen
is removed (splenectomy) and life goes on.

The spleen is formed by reticular and lymphatic tissue and is the
largest lymph organ. The spleen lies in the left hypochondriac
region of the abdominal cavity between the fundus of the stomach and
the diaphragm. It is purplish in colour and varies in size in
different individuals, but it is usually about 120mm (4.75 inches)
long, 70mm wide (2.75 inches) and 25 mm (1 inch) thick. It weighs
about 0.2 Kg (just under half a pound).

Functions

There are three major functions of the spleen and these are handled
by three different tissues within the spleen.

1.Reticuloendothelial tissue - concerned with phagocytosis of
erythrocytes and cell debris from the blood stream. This same tissue
may produce foci of haemopoiesis when RBC's are needed.

2.Venous sinusoids along with the power of the spleen to contract,
provides a method for expelling the contained blood to meet
increased circulatory demands in certain animals.

3.White pulp provides lymphocytes and a source of plasma cells and
hence antibodies for the cellular and humoral specific immune
defenses.

Normal Physiology
Lymph drains into open-ended, one-way lymph capillaries. It moves
more slowly than blood, pushed along mainly by a person's breathing
and contractions of the skeletal muscles. The walls of blood
capillaries are very thin, and they have many tiny openings to allow
gases, water, and chemicals to pass through to nourish cells and to
take away waste products. Interstitial fluid passes out of these
openings to bathe the body tissues.

Lymph vessels recycle the interstitial fluid and return it to the
bloodstream in the circulatory system. They collect the fluid and
carry it from all of the body's tissues and then empty it into large
veins in the upper chest, near the neck.

Lymph nodes are made of a meshlike network of tissue. Lymph enters
the lymph node and works its way through passages called sinuses.
The nodes contain macrophages, phagocytic cells that engulf
(phagocytize) and destroy bacteria, dead tissue, and other foreign
matter, removing them from the bloodstream. After these substances
have been filtered out, the lymph then leaves the nodes and returns
to the veins, where it re-enters the bloodstream.

When a person has an infection, germs collect in great numbers in
the lymph nodes. If the throat is infected, for example, the lymph
nodes of the neck may swell. Sometimes the phagocytic cells may not
be able to destroy all of the germs, and a local infection in the
nodes may result.

Because the lymphatic system extends to the far reaches of the body,
it also plays a role in the spread of cancer. This is why lymph
nodes near a cancerous growth are usually removed with the growth.

Clinical Considerations

Surgical removal of the spleen may be carried out in healthy
patients whose spleen has been ruptured by trauma. In the long run,
splenectomy has no dire effects .

There is an increased risk of infection after splenectomy,
especially in very young children.

In hypertrophic spleen due to overactivity of its macrophage system,
it can be removed without apparent ill effects.

Diseases, Conditions, Disorders, and Dysfunctions
Because the lymphatic system branches through most of the parts of
the body, it may be involved in a wide range of conditions. Diseases
may affect the lymph nodes, the spleen, or the collections of
lymphoid tissue that occur in certain areas of the body.

Disorders of the lymph nodes

Lymphadenopathy. Most lymph nodes in the body can't be felt easily
unless they become swollen or enlarged. Lymphadenopathy is an
increase in the size of a lymph node or nodes, most often as the
result of a nearby infection (for example, lymphadenopathy in the
neck might be the result of an infection of the throat). Less
commonly (particularly in children), swelling of the lymph nodes can
be due to an infiltration of cancerous cells. If lymphadenopathy is
generalized (meaning that the swelling is present in several lymph
node groups throughout the body), it usually indicates that the
person has a systemic disease.
Lymphadenitis, or adenitis, is an inflammation (swelling,
tenderness, and sometimes redness and warmth of the overlying skin)
of the lymph node due to an infection of the tissue in the node
itself. In children, this condition most commonly involves the lymph
nodes of the neck.
Lymphomas. A group of cancers that arise from the lymph nodes, these
diseases result when lymphocytes undergo changes and start to
multiply out of control. The involved lymph nodes enlarge, and the
cancer cells crowd out healthy cells and may form tumors (solid
growths) in other parts of the body.

Disorders of the spleen

Splenomegaly (enlarged spleen). In children, the spleen is usually
small enough that it can't be felt by pressing on the abdomen, but
the spleen can enlarge to several times its normal size with certain
diseases. There are many possible reasons for this including various
blood diseases and cancers, but the most common cause in children is
infection (particularly viral infections). Infectious mononucleosis,
a condition usually caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), is one
of many viral infections associated with an enlarged spleen.
Children and teens with an enlarged spleen should avoid contact
sports because they can have a life-threatening loss of blood if
their spleen is ruptured.

Disorders of other lymphoid tissue

Tonsillitis. An extremely common condition, particularly in
children, tonsillitis occurs when the tonsils, the collections of
lymphoid tissue in the back of the mouth at the top of the throat,
are involved in a bacterial or viral infection that causes them to
become swollen and inflamed. The tonsils normally help to filter out
bacteria and other microorganisms to aid the body in fighting
infection. Symptoms include sore throat, high fever, and difficulty
swallowing. The infection may also spread to the throat and
surrounding areas, causing pain and inflammation (pharyngitis).

That is why this organ is a vital part of our defense. Take good
care of it!

Thymus
The thymus gland lies in the upper part of the mediastinum behind
the sternum and extends upwards into the root of the neck. It weighs
about 10 to 15 g.(about half an ounce) at birth and begins to grow
until the individual reaches puberty when it begins to atrophy.
It's
maximum weight is around 30 - 40g (around 1 to 1.5 ounces) by the
age of 40 it has returned to it's weight at birth. The thymus
consists of two lobes connected by areolar tissue. The lobes are
enclosed in a fibrous capsule which dips into their substance
dividing them into lobules that consist of an irregular branching
framework of epithelial cells and lymphocytes.

Function
Lymphocytes originate from haemocytoblasts (stem cells) in red bone
marrow. Those that enter the thymus mature and develop into
activated T-lymphocytes i.e. able to respond to antigens encountered
elsewhere in the body.

They then divide into two groups :
those that enter the blood, some of which remain in
circulation and some lodge in other lymphoid tissue
those that remain in the thymus gland and are the source of
future generations of T-lymphocytes.

The maturation of the thymus and other lymphoid tissue is stimulated
by thymosin, a hormone secreted by the epithelial cells that form
the framework of the thymus gland. Involution of the gland begins in
adolescence and, with increasing age the effectiveness of T-
lymphocyte response to antigens declines.

T Cells
T cells have two major roles in immune defense. Regulatory T cells
are essential for orchestrating the response of an elaborate system
of different types of immune cells.
Helper T cells, for example, also known as CD4 positive T cells
(CD4+ T cells), alert B cells to start making antibodies; they also
can activate other T cells and immune system scavenger cells called
macrophages and influence which type of antibody is produced.
Certain T cells, called CD8 positive T cells (CD8+ T cells), can
become killer cells that attack and destroy infected cells. The
killer T cells are also called cytotoxic T cells or CTLs (cytotoxic
lymphocytes).

T lymphocytes become CD4+ or helper T cells, or they can become CD8+
cells, which in turn can become killer T cells, also called
cytotoxic T cells.

After it engulfs and processes an antigen, the macrophage displays
the antigen fragments combined with a Class II MHC protein on the
macrophage cell surface. The antigen-protein combination attracts a
helper T cell, and promotes its activation.

Activation of cytotoxic T cells
After a macrophage engulfs and processes an antigen, the macrophage
displays the antigen fragments combined with a Class I MHC protein
on the macrophage cell surface. A receptor on a circulating, resting
cytotoxic T cell recognizes the antigen-protein complex and binds to
it. The binding process and a helper T cell activate the cytotoxic T
cell so that it can attack and destroy the diseased cell.

Activation of B cells to make antibody

A B cell uses one of its receptors to bind to its matching antigen,
which the B cell engulfs and processes. The B cell then displays a
piece of the antigen, bound to a Class II MHC protein, on the cell
surface. This whole complex then binds to an activated helper T
cell. This binding process stimulates the transformation of the B
cell into an antibody-secreting plasma cell.

The Immune Response An immune response to foreign antigen requires
the presence of an antigen-presenting cell (APC), (usually either a
macrophage or dendritic cell) in combination with a B cell or T
cell. When an APC presents an antigen on its cell surface to a B
cell, the B cell is signalled to proliferate and produce antibodies
that specifically bind to that antigen. If the antibodies bind to
antigens on bacteria or parasites it acts as a signal for pmns or
macrophages to engulf (phagocytose) and kill them. Another important
function of antibodies is to initiate the "complement destruction
cascade." When antibodies bind to cells or bacteria, serum proteins
called complement bind to the immobilized antibodies and destroy the
bacteria by creating holes in them. Antibodies can also signal
natural killer cells and macrophages to kill viral or bacterial-
infected cells.

The Organs of the Immune System

Bone Marrow -- All the cells of the immune system are initially
derived from the bone marrow. They form through a process called
hematopoiesis. During hematopoiesis, bone marrow-derived stem cells
differentiate into either mature cells of the immune system or into
precursors of cells that migrate out of the bone marrow to continue
their maturation elsewhere. The bone marrow produces B cells,
natural killer cells, granulocytes and immature thymocytes, in
addition to red blood cells and platelets.

Thymus -- The function of the thymus is to produce mature T cells.

Lymph Nodes -- The lymph nodes function as an immunologic filter for
the bodily fluid known as lymph. The Cells of the Immune System

T-Cells -- The main function of the T helper cell is to augment or
potentiate immune responses by the secretion of specialized factors
that activate other white blood cells to fight off infection.

Natural Killer Cells -- They function as effector cells that
directly kill certain tumors such as melanomas, lymphomas and viral-
infected cells, most notably herpes and cytomegalovirus-infected
cells.

B Cells -- The major function of B lymphocytes is the production of
antibodies in response to foreign proteins of bacteria, viruses, and
tumor cells. Antibodies are specialized proteins that specifically
recognize and bind to one particular protein that specifically
recognize and bind to one particular protein.

Granulocytes or Polymorphonuclear (PMN) Leukocytes -- These cells
are predominantly important in the removal of bacteria and parasites
from the body.

Macrophages -- They are often referred to as scavengers or antigen-
presenting cells (APC) because they pick up and ingest foreign
materials and present these antigens to other cells of the immune
system such as T cells and B cells.

Dendritic Cells -- Dendritic cells, which also originate in the bone
marrow, function as antigen presenting cells (APC).

Next week, we'll discuss supplements that will boost our immune
system. I particularly like Cat's Claw and pau D' Arco.

higher experiences of health. LifeSource is simply the best
Superfood product available anywhere. It is 100% guaranteed to your
personal satisfaction. Enjoy, live long, give love, light & laughter!

What is a SuperFood?
Superfood describes a food that is naturally concentrated to provide
all the nutritional elements necessary for optimal health. Many of
these foods are found in the first link of the food chain, i.e., the
plankton which is made purely from sunlight and water, and grasses
which are made from soil and sunlight. Since they are so nutrient
dense, very little is required to achieve significant nutritional
benefit.

These Superfoods also contain phytochemicals that protect the body
against many degenerative diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular
disease. Chlorophyll, beta-carotene in the plankton, and genistein
and daidzein in the soy sprouts are four of the most powerful
anticancer phytochemicals discovered. In fact, there is not a
degenerative disease that can not be prevented through the increased
consumption of these foods.

Many people have experienced the benefits of eating "lighter". Not
just physical benefits, but benefits to consciousness and clear
thinking. As we let go of the denser foods such as red meat and
refined, processed foods, and include more fresh vegetables and
fruits, these Superfoods are a valuable bridge for the body to make
the necessary transformations

HOW. . . .

By selecting the world's purest and most potent Superfoods and
blending them together in ratios determined through the observation
of each food's energy field. This process is known as Energy
Field
Formulations™.

LifeSource SuperSprouts
Contains Only the Finest Ingredients:
LifeSource SuperSprouts provides a combination of Organic Sprouts
that include; Amaranth, Spelt, Broccoli, and Millet.
Both are in a base of Chlorella, Organic Spirulina, Wildcrafted
Hydrilla sea plant, Organic Barley Juice Concentrate 33:1,
Phasophyto green kelp, Rhodophyta Red kelp, and Stevia.

WHY. . . .

High energy foods increase our own subtle energy fields. Over 27
years of research by Dr. Valerie Hunt at UCLA associates bio-
electric energy fields with greater intelligence, mature emotional
balance with less stress, increased learning ability, and overall
heighten states of health. Research indicates that foods with an
override frequency of 72MHz or greater increase the body's bio-
electric energy. Foods below 72MHz deplete the body's energy.

Refined & Processed Foods 10 - 30MHz
Whole Foods & Fresh Vegetables 30MHz - 80MHz

SuperFoods 72 - 92MHz

LifeSource 121MHz

121MHz.. The Harmonics of Life
Comparison tests reveal that LifeSource contains dramatically higher
bio-electric energy levels than any other superfood product.
Consuming foods with over 72MHz enhances metabolism and increases
energy production. Processed foods will be from 10MHz to 30MHZ,
while fresh organically grown foods will range from 30MHz to 80MHz.
The Energy Field Formulations™ process raises LifeSource
naturally
to 121MHz, a frequency many researchers believe to be a resonant
harmonic of DNA. When any organic substance is in a harmonic field
of itself, the opportunity is created for it to experience it's
highest potential. This potential is the awakening of the genetic
intelligence that births the reality of Oneness with all else that
exists.

Bitter Melon, also known as Bitter Gourd, or Ampalaya in the
Philippines has been traditionally used to regulate blood sugar
levels within the normal limits. It contains Gurmarin, a polypeptide
that has been shown in experimental studies to achieve its
regulating effect by suppressing the neural response to sweet taste
stimuli. Bitter Melon is also a natural source of Vitamin C. A
natural side effect can be some weight loss.

Family: Cucurbitaceae Genus: Momordica Bitter Melon grows in
tropical areas, including parts of the Amazon, east Africa, Asia and
the Carribbean and is cultivated as a food and medicine.

In the Amazon, local people and indigineous tribes grow bitter melon
in their gardens for food and medicine. Medicinally, the plant has a
long history of use: leaf tea is employed for diabetes; as a
carminative for colic; topically for sores, wounds and infections;
internally and externally for worms and parasites; as an
emmenagogue; and as an antiviral for measles, hepatitis and feverish
conditions. In brazilian herbal medicine, bitter melon is used for
tumors, wounds,rheumatism, malaria,
leucorrhea,inflammation,menstrual problems,hypertension,
diabetes, high cholesterol ,colic, fevers, worms, to induce abortions,
and an aphrodisiac. It is also employed topically for skin problems,
vaginits, hemorrhoids, scabies, itchy rashes, eczema, and leprosy.

Not recommended for females wanting to get pregnant.
