HEAD LICE TIP SHEET:
*****************************

Head Lice, If you are a parent you are
probably going to have to deal with
them sometime.

My experience comes from 4 children,
10 grandchildren, and numerous friends
& relatives. Plus, I have done considerable
research on the critters. So, here is my
advice.
***********************************
Their are many products on the Internet to
chose from, and those at your local pharmacy.
All are good, some more expensive than
others. No matter which one you choose,
the following tips will apply.

TIPS

1. Follow the instructions carefully: these
critters are persistent, you should repeat the
process in 5 to 7 days. And check for lice
every 3 days until you are sure they are gone.

2. You must be very diligent with the combing
to remove all the nits and dead critters. This
process is very important!

3. Comb the hair out with a fine tooth comb to
remove the eggs. A hard rubber or plastic fine tooth
comb will do the best job. Ask your pharmacist
for one (and/or store clerk).

4. If you have extra long hair, you may have to
cut it [to shoulder length]. Not an absolute, it is
just less work to comb through.

5. When washing out bedding; It is best to dry
it out doors on a clothes line. If unavailable; dry
an extra 15 minutes in your dryer.

A Final Note;

I know, I know, ....it would be nice if you could
just apply something once and then never again
{no more lice}. But that is just not reality.
Checking at least once a month should be part
of our regular hygiene. And if you have had lice
recently; checking once a week would be more
realistic. Why? Well,.......

Nits (lice eggs) hatch out in 5 to 6 days; that
is why one needs to re-treat the hair in that
amount of time to be sure any left are killed;
after they have hatched and before they have
matured. While you did get all of them out of
your hair; there is always a chance of one or
two eggs still around your house waiting for
you to brush by. Or you may again come in
contact with whom so ever you originally
got them from in the first place.

Blessings Be,
