Opportunity to do Child Health Research
Are you interested in physical activity and child health? Would you like
experience in primary data collection with a team of UCSF researchers?
Would you like the opportunity to work first hand with a pediatrician?
Do you want to work one on one with elementary school students in San
Francisco?
We are conducting a study on physical activity in the after-school setting,
looking at the effects of different types of programs on child health and
academic outcomes.
We are looking for volunteers who will be available for 8 to 10 afternoons,
from 2:30 - 5:30, between September 9th and September 26th to work
collecting data in San Francisco public elementary schools.
Volunteers will be asked to attend a one-hour training session on either
Monday August 18th from 9-10am, or Wednesday August 20th from 4-5pm.
Training sessions will cover topics such as fitness testing, anthropometric
measurements, survey administration, and more. Light snacks will be
provided.
If you are interested, please let us know what days you are available.
Preference will be given to those with the greatest availability.
There is significant potential for paid work as the study advances.
