New Orleans Trip - Next step   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #89 of 1206 |
Hi Everyone,

We need to come to a concensus about what we would like to help with
once we are in New Orleans. Those of you who I got replies from
received several forwarded email from me. (If you would like to
receive these emails, let me know ASAP). In one of these emails,
towards the bottom, there is a list titled "Types of work". Please
read this list carefully and email me your top two choices. I am
personally interested in the house gutting (which sounds to be real
labor intensive) and the medical clinics. I will check with my
contact to see how many tasks we can do while we are there.

Next, does January 17th through the 23rd work for everyone? I would
like it if we could all travel together. Preferably, I would like to
leave early morning from here so we'll have some daylight once we
arrive into New Orleans. I found so far that Continental Airlines is
the cheapest ($256 round trip including all fees from Oakland) and
they have the biggest selection of times. Let me know if any of you
find something better. If these dates are okay with everyone, we
should go ahead and book by this weekend. We should all coordinate
somehow so we are all on the same flight. Maybe one person can book
everyone's flight and collect the money.

The hostel I believe is $17/night/person, which will total
$102/person for the 6 nights. Holly, can you get the specifics on
this?

Also, I would like to also rent a car while we are out there. After
we split the cost, it should not be more than $20 or $30 per person.

So total, we are looking at about $400/person, not including the
supplies that we should probably pick up before we leave (the emails
i forwarded also has this info).

Let me know if you have any questions. I will need email
confirmation from all those definitely interested in going by this
Saturday.

Take care.

Boramee
