Dear Healthcare Activist,

 

You are invited to participate in a mass rally foruniversal healthcare minus the insurance industry.  The SF rally at Moscone Convention Center hasnational significance.

 

Itis worth taking the day off work to be a participant!

It will be big, it will help bring clarity whatuniversal healthcare really is about, and it will show there is tremendoussupport for single payer health care.  State Senator Shella Kuehl will chairthe rally.

With ten days left to build the rally, we have over 30groups pledging bring at least 2000 activists to the rally.  17 buses arecoming from around the state.  A list of speakers, groups pledging to bringpeople, downloadable leaflets, and directions can be found atwww.singlepayernow.net         

      

Why didwe choose Thursday, June 19 for a rally?

From June 18^th - June 20^th, thehealth insurance industry (AHIP) will be meeting at San Francisco’sMoscone Convention Center. Their Thursday, June 19^th program features former US Senators JohnBreaux and Bill Frist; past Secretary of Health and Human Services, TommyThompson; former Counselor to President Bush, Dan Bartlett, and former Chairmanof the Democratic National Committee, Terry McAuliffe.  All these speakersoppose health proposals that remove the insurance industry from our healthcare. 

         Please let us know if you can attend, if you can come early tovolunteer, or if you can help call our phone tree for turnout.  You areencouraged to forward this alert.
