The Conservation Genetics Laboratory is looking for a student lab
assistant for the Fall 2008/Spring 2009 terms. The position is 10-20
hours per week @ $12/hour. Hours per day and days worked are extremely
flexible. Applicants must be enrolling in the coming (Fall '08)
semester. The successful applicant will start with several weeks of
training (paid at the same rate, for 10-20 hours/week) in July or
August.
Duties for this position include: help maintain laboratory stocks and
supplies, clean and decontaminate glass and plasticware, make
reagents, aliquot chemicals, conduct inventories, keep laboratory
workspaces clean and organized, pick up supplies from and delivers
hazardous waste to the Biology Stockroom. Qualified applicants may
also help with PCR and DNA sequencing.
