Dear Pre-Meds:
Please see the important annaouncement below and attached flyer. The Stanford
SUMMA conference is a great opportunity, especially for minority pre-meds, to
meet other pre-meds and get up-to-date info on med schools. Even though it will
not be held until January, spots for attending the conference fill up fast. So,
if you are interested, fill out an application NOW.

Dear Pre-Medical Students,
We are now accepting applications for the* 2007-2008 SUMMA Medical
Mentorship Program* (due date: *October 1st, 2007*)
The Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA) Medical Mentorship
Program (MMP) focuses on reaching out to disadvantaged pre-medical students
at community and state colleges of the Bay Area. By providing one-on-one
mentoring between a Stanford medical student and pre-medical student, we
hope to create a welcoming environment and help increase the number of
disadvantaged students applying and admitted to medical school.
As a mentee, you will become part of a dynamic group of medical students
that are familiar with the challenges of enrollment in college and medical
school. Our program provides mentees the opportunity to experience the
Stanford University School of Medicine on a regular basis by attending
workshops, lectures, small group discussions, and possibly clinical
experiences with their medical student mentors. The hope is to provide a
sense of what the life of a Stanford medical student is really like.
Please see the attached flyer and our website for more information:
