Hi Healers!

Tomorrow is my first day of classes at the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University.  I’ve been accepted into the LMU program  - Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved. 

I have been through a roller coaster of emotions already – fear about moving to a new place, sadness about being far away from friends and family, anxiousness and stress about classes, but most of all I’m very excited about this new step in my life. 

I wanted to personally thank all of you for all your encouragement and support throughout the years as I worked towards this goal.  It has definitely been an uphill battle and I know that I would not have made it without all of you.

HEAL has definitely been a huge part of my transformation into a leader and into an advocate for the underserved.  The Insurance Enrollment Events, the Doc Gator events, the Hurricane Katrina events, and most definitely the many Lumpia & Eggroll Fundraisers I will hold dearly in my heart. 

I hope that the current members of HEAL and also the future members will make the most of what HEAL has to offer.  Create your own projects and collaborate with the many resources in the Bay Area.  HEAL’s potential is limitless.
