Hello everyone,
Just want to let you know about an extraordinary volunteer opportunity working with SFCASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program. You will become an advocate/mentor/court appointed officer to work one-on-one with a children in the foster care system. You meet weekly with the child, go through all information about the child, find out what the child's needs are and you represent the child's voice in court. Find out more at http://www.sfcasa.org
It's a pretty intense volunteer position, and requires a significant commitment and some flexibility in your schedule (so, good for glide year). They are looking for responsible and mature people (you must be 21 and over). There is an application, interview and selection process. It requires a 30 hour training, a 18 month commitment, you have to get finger print and pass a background check. Find out more at their next information session: (R.S.V.P. to kelley@... or 415-399-6132. if you are interested in attending)
