Outcome of Katrina Teach-in   Message List

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to thank all of you who went to the Katrina event
yesterday, especially the volunteers. The day went by so smoothly
and all your help was greatly appreciated. The teach-in was
definitely a success and one of the most amazing experiences that I
have ever been involved with. The guest speakers were exceptional,
especially the evening keynote speakers, Malik Rahim and Curtis
Muhammed. The stories from people who were displaced here to the Bay
Area literally put me into tears. I have never been more moved or
more inspired to help make a change. I am so grateful that HEAL had
the opportunity to be involved with this event. I feel so honored to
be a student of San Francisco State.

I hope that you were all able to take away something positive from
the event. I know I have.

Thank you all once again.

Boramee

P.S. HEAL raised a total of $429 through fundraising, which will be
donated to the Common Ground Collective in Louisiana. Donations
collected throughout the Katrina event totaled $1232.77. Great job
everyone!
