Subject: USC Student Immersion Program
Dear Colleagues,
Several of our premed students have been working closely with Dr. Erin
Quinn, Associate Dean of Admission for the Keck School of Medicine,
to develop a student immersion program for soon-to-be medical students.
We need your help in spreading the word about this wonderful program, USC's
Hermanos Student Immersion Program (SIP). It is open to students who have
completed undergraduate coursework, possibly deferring admission to medical
school and will eventually be attending any medical school. Attached is an
informational flyer and below you will find an email you may post to your
listserves.
With much appreciation,
Gina Camello, M.Ed.

Dear Students,
USC’s Somos Hermanos Student Immersion Program (SIP) is offering you
(students at all universities) the opportunity to become fluent in Spanish
and competent in Latin American culture in order to address the health care
disparity that occurs when health care providers do not speak the same
language or come from the same culture as their patients. This program is
geared towards students who have completed their undergrad education and
choose to defer medical school for a year. Please see the attached flyer
and contact us for more information.
We hope to hear from you soon!
