I currently have an opening for a part-time smoking cessation facilitator (16 hours/2 days per week). The Programa Latino para Dejar de Fumar is run out of San Francisco General Hospital, and is funded by the San Francisco Department of Public Health, Tobacco Free Project. The position is open for 1 year, and ends June 30, 2007. The applicant must be Spanish-bilingual. Experience working in the Spanish-speaking community is preferred, but not required. JOB DESCRIPTION: Under direct supervision, the new hire will 1) conduct community outreach to Spanish-speaking smokers in San Francisco, 2) process requests and mail smoking cessation intervention packets to smokers, 3) conduct one-to-one training on use of cessation materials when necessary, 4) conduct follow-up interviews by phone at 1, 3, 6, and 12-months post-intervention, 5) prepare monthly reports, and 6) perform other administrative duties as needed. The incumbent will work 40% time, and will resolve issues related to service delivery and follow-up independently, but based upon pre-approved options.
