Dear Dr. Rothman:



I am writing on behalf of the Latino Association of Pharmacy Students (LAPS)
at UCSF School of Pharmacy to invite your students and interested
instructors/advisors to the First Annual LAPS College Outreach Day.

Our event will take place Saturday March 4, 2006 at the UCSF campus. It is
our opportunity to introduce college students and college advisors from the
San Francisco area to the great career of pharmacy. Many students have the
dreams to become doctors or nurses, but are not aware of the field of
pharmacy. Attending pharmacy school can earn students a Doctor of Pharmacy
degree and the chance to utilize their interests in science and math while at
the same time helping patients and the community.

During our event we will feature presentations from both pharmacy
professionals and pharmacy students. We hope to enlighten those in attendance
as to what pharmacy is all about and what kind of training and education it
takes to enter the field.

We also plan to offer campus tours, Q and A sessions with current pharmacy
students, informative talks from pharmacy school faculty, and breakfast and
lunch which will be provided at no cost.

Although any student is welcome to attend, we strongly encourage students of
underrepresented backgrounds to attend. Advisors from each campus are also
encouraged to attend. Please come out and join us! Attached is a flier for
posting and distribution.
