Wow, what a blast, what a trip actually. was kind of getting bored with the net,
was gonna get rid of my broadband and go back to 56k because i hardly used the

found this crazy pickup thing, with webcmeras and all the gear. used to waste my
time trying to find gals on yahoo, but this place is like 100X easier. this is
the spot that made me decide to stick with my net for a bit longer

I am the most recently added member to join who is finally happy to
see something positive being said about DEPO. I am due to go in and
get my first shot next week, and made the decision to do so because
the whole package of what Depo provides (peace of mind, little to know
periods, low maintence)seems like a perfect match for me. Anyone who
gets regular migraines without DEPO or birth control methods, find it
to worsen them or not do much at all? I'd love to have some input!

This message is about Human beings, Democracy, UNHCR, Refugees, The Iraqis,
Islam, Kurds, Human rights, Respect, Money, Donations, Angelina Jolie,
Pavarotti, Giorgio Armani, Donors, Peace, History, Campaigns and about you if
you care about these words.

Hi there,

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.

This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here: http://human.beplaced.com Where you can read the rest of this message
as web page.

Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:
http://www.free-webster.com/users/lebanon/smile.html

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example: The refugees
allege that UNHCR staff is selling most of the food items they are supposed to
be supplied.
"They aren't supplying sufficient food to us because they sell most of the food
items," they allege: http://allafrica.com/stories/200503140214.html

Here is another example: Burmese Refugees Withdraw Protest Against UNHCR
http://www.mizzima.com/archives/news-in-2005/news-in-april/12-April05-22.htm

"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing
for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm

Together we will build better world.

Thought I should pass on my knowledge to all you guys (and gals) on here. I
know like heaps of men I am pretty shy when it comes to going up to someone.
I've tried a few different places (clubs, bars, etc) but never seem to have too
much luck. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I joined up to

I was beginning to think I'd end up being alone for ever, but already been

I have been thinking about switching from the pill to Depo, after my
doctor suggested it. I've been having trouble with the pill -- nothing
TOO serious but I bleed for about 2 weeks every month regardless of
which pills the doctor has had me try. I had pretty much made up my
mind to switch when I did some Internet research and, unfortunately,
found all the horror stories that got me really worrying.

It was such a relief to find this group and see that a lot of women
are having good luck with it and are willing to talk about it. Thanks
to all of you for that. I will most likely be getting my first shot in
a month or so.

Thanks!

I think it is best, your supposed to get the 5th day of your cycle, it
works immediately and not only that when you get off your periods are
more likeyly to come back quicker form what i experienced and you just
jjump baack to normal cycle. Its so cool. Anyhow. No i got mine onece
like that and you cant get pregnant, Depo wont let you get pregant
once its in your bloodstream. Its too potent.

Yes it is so normal, that happened to me and i went in every 11
weeks and it stopped happening. You can easily get pregant to when
you break through. So my doctor told me to come in like every 11
weeks not every 13 .. 10 may be 2 soon.

Hi,
Im new to this club and i just want to mention to concerned users is
that depo provera has been one of the best birth control you can
possibly imagine. I never experienced much side effects most people
metion about having. I am a person who gets sick on the pill and depo
has never made me feel like i was dieing. Not only that, I got
pregnant once right after depo. I dont know why people are saying that
you cant get pregnant, You can once the shot is out your system.
Normally your period resides about 4-6 months after your last shot.
It is wonderful. The only thing that i experienced was breast
tenderness. When ifirst too k my shot iwas really short and petitie
weighting about 112 lbs and i never gained any weight ever. I was on
it for four years. I have treid onther methods and they make me ill. I
really am considering on getting back on depo because it is an awesome
bc. Hapyy user...:)

I have been on depo for 4 years on and off. I always spot near the
end of my 3 months too. What my doctor told me was to just come in
a week before the shot is due and that should stop the spotting.
Also, if you get the shot in the rear instead of the arm it will
greatly reduce any other spotting.

Typically, the shot is given during the menstrual period to keep ovulation from
occuring again. the high dose of progesterone from the depo basically keeps
the egg from developing in the ovary and being released for fertilization. if
you get your shot a couple weeks after your period, you would definitely want
to use a back-up method for seven days, in case you have already ovulated at
that point.

I dont know why it is best, my doctor just said that
the window for getting the shot was the first several
days during the menstrual cycle. My suggestion is
call your doctor or your health center and ask a nurse
on duty. They can give you straight forward questions
and if needed the morning after pill.

I read that it's best to have your shot when you have your menstrual
period? How is this so? What if I had the shot two weeks after my
period? Is is still as effective as having it during my period?

If my partner ejaculated inside my vagina while on Depo, what are my
chances of being pregnant?

thanks in advance!

I was on here saying that depo was great. I've been off of it now for 3 years
and I feel a lot better now. I was 137 when I started, I got up to 155 when I
finished it. I was pretty lucky with my weight gain too. One year I was able to
get down to 153 with a very hard work out program and that was still pretty
heavy for me. It really messed up my metabolism and I really wouldn't recomend
it. However, since you have been having problems with the pill, perhaps this is
the only road you should take. I will let you know that sometimes I had light
bleeding for a month and a half at times. I also had my period for 3 months
during my first shot, and both situations are very common for Depo.

I was finally able to drop the weight now, and I'm 132. I still can't eat what I
want but now I learned that eating healthier is better anyway.

Hi, I just joined this group because it was the first one I found that
was not against depo-provera. I received my first shot yesterday. So
far no complaints....i'm just not used to getting a shot in my rear.
My doctor recommended that I get online and find a group of others
who are on it, because of the negative things being said about depo
were so discouraging. My health is not typical and getting this
injection was finally set as a decision between my fiance' and I,
because the doctors were split on whether it was a good move or not.
You see I'm on a medication called Dilatin and I have to keep a
specific level of Dilantin in my body to keep from have Petit mal
seizures, also known as absense siezures. The Dilantin caused my
birth control pills to be unaffective and I became pregnant, only to
later miscarry. Well here is my question, are there any other ladies
out there who are taking depo and are on medication for seizures? How
has it affected you? Thank you very much.

Hi! Has anyone done something to lose weight? Or is it just depo and
it's going to affect you until you get off?

Hi Marin

Most BC pills/shots are sometimes the cause of migraines...

all I know is that because my hormones are not
fluctuating up and down anymore (been on depo since feb 2004)
because of not having a monthly period...
my migraines have stopped... !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My doctor said that the menstrual migraines are sometimes the
worst to try and treat because nothing really helps them...

and I am not just talking a headache or mild discomfort that
2 Advil will cure...
I mean a full blown migraine that will last for almost a week...
sometimes 2~

I am sure you know what I am talking about!

I was spending $17.00 a pill on my prescriptions...
sometimes taking 2-3 pills over a few days.

This shot has been a godsend for me!!

My only problem is that it has enhanced my already oily skin.
I am actually going to see my doc next week to see if I can
get something to combat the acne that has flared up since getting the
shot....36 years old and still worrying about this stuff!

Sometimes the good comes with the bad....a few zits here and
there is fine with me if as long as my brain doesn't feel like it
is gong to explode anymore!

When I did get my 1st shot however, I remember my doctor saying that
I might have a migraine or headache the 1st time...and I remember I
did...but it was cured by 2 Advil's...or I think 2 Alieve's...

headache free since Feb 2004~

As far as the weight gain...my doctor told me that there isn't really
any difference in what we took orally as a pill to what is in the
shot...I have noticed sometimes I feel bloated when I eat junk and
don't drink enough water a day...but as long as your not stuffing
your face with crap...the pounds don't just automatically jump onto
your butt!

Good luck!
