I totally understand where you're coming from - I'm 19 and my boyfriend and I
worry about me getting pregnant. I got 2 Depo shots but they made my period
really irregular - I'd bleed for 2-3 weeks every couple of weeks. It
probably would've stopped eventually but I got really worn out and it was
frustrating that my birth control was preventing me from having sex. My doc
put me on Ortho-tricyclin Lo and that seemed to get my period back to normal.
I was really worried about my mom finding out or me forgetting to take the
pill but so far, so good. Once you get into the habit it's not hard to
remember. Also, the pills come in a discrete compact that almost looks like
it could hold make-up so it shouldn't be too hard to hide from you parents.
Whatever you decide to do, be sure you do lots of research about the possible
side effects.
