Hi-
I'm 19 and I started Depo in early December of 2002. Everything was
fine for about the first 3 weeks, but after that I bled (not very
heavily but enough to keep me from having sex) for 3 weeks. About 2-
3 weeks later I started bleeding again. This time for about 2 or
2.5 weeks. Once again, I started bleeding about 3 weeks after I
stopped. The longest time I've been able to go was whole the month
of March, but now I've been bleeding again for about a week.
Everything else seems fine - I was worried about my hair for a
little while but it seems ok, and I've been going to the gym to
avoid weight gain. I just can't stand not having any sense of
control over my periods. My boyfriend is being pretty good about
it, but I can tell it bothers both of us that this birth control
that is supposed to give me freedom has been preventing us from
having sex for weeks on end. Is this bleeding normal?? Any guesses
when it will subside and I can enjoy being free of my periods
completely??
