Thanks for responding. I know the feeling my gym has been my second home. I've
been working out 5 days a week for 3 weeks now, hoping to loose weight and keep
it off. I was pretty lazy for a while so I think that has a lot to do with it.
It really shocked me when my gyno told me in average women gain 10 lbs a year
from it. I don't think I look big but I have noticed the difference. I just went
on a couple of sites to see about the weight gain and came out terrified that I
made a horrible choice and doomed myself! I did research on it before I went on
and didn't really find that many problems with it. Plus my doctor at that time
said it was a good birth control that has a history of breast cancer in the
family. I'm just glad I found this site, I thought I was crazy that I was semi
happy with it (all except the weight). I thought the wieght gain was the start
to a horrible problem. But so far so good.

Hello Erica,
I have been with Depo since the birth of my first daughter 6 years ago.... Then
I stopped in October of 1998 got my period February of 1999 and got pregnant
October of 1999. And after the birth of my second child I am back on Depo....
I have no complaints about the depo except for the weight gain. I have searched
for that magic birth control that does not have that side effect but it seems
like they all do. I have noticed that you can lose weight with Depo but you can
gain it back twice as fast than the average person. I am struggling to lose
weight. Weight Watchers has been my second home. But I am thinking of trying
something else. I must say it is hard to keep weight off with this.

hear some
things on depo from people that are happy with it. I've been on for 2
years and I'm considering changing (mainly due to negative sites on
the info). I started taking depo because I was worried I would forget
to take the pill or that I would get pregnant when I took antibotics.
Plus I had really horrible periods. I still get my period at the end
of the shot but it's much better than every month! The problem I'm
having is weight gain. I'm having a hard time with it. I gained 10-13
pounds and I heard from my gyno that I can gain more. However I just
started to really really focus on excerise (5 times a week). The
thing is I'm worried about the other side effect if I use it longer.
There is breast cancer history in my family (my mom and my
grandmother's sister) and I'm scared of other things that I won't
know about until I'm off of it. I have been happy with it besides the
weight gain (I still fit in most of my clothes but I would like my
slimmer self back). Any words of wisdom? Has anyone lost weight they
gained from depo? If I could get some feedback I would be extremely
helpful.
