Lisa, most of the hair, (store bought pre-packed hair) you find in
beauty supply stores has already been through a battery of things,
stripping, coating, collection problems (cuticles not going the same
way)and coloring before it even gets packaged, so the quality, NO
MATTER WHAT THE LABEL SAYS, is already been damaged of sorts, before
you put it on your head. The supplers use typically Asian hair
because of its thick texture, and it is cheap to get. Unfortunately
for the consumer, because of the collection process, most times,
they just gather the hair up and don't insure that the cuticles are
all going the same direction. So you get very damaged dry hair,
which looks very smooth and shinny! But after a few washes all the
coating is washed off to reveal the true condition of the hair.

Virgin hair is the best hair to use for any extension technique,
however it is quite expensive, and most people don't want to pay the
extra money for hair. Not understanding that they will have to fork
out twice as much buying more bad hair, because the hair matts or
knots. So the best thing to do is to find the next best quality hair
you can get for affordable. Senssational has a wonderful hair line.
I don't know if you can get that over there. I could run off a list
of hair not to use, but you can email me directly and I will tell
you that.

As far as not feeling them, you can as Daniela suggested try smaller
tips (depending on pre-made vs. hand-made). You know if you husband
wants to feel your hair these are artificial attachments and they
are going to be felt if he goes deep into your hair like to your
scalp. There is no technique, no weaving, bonding, braiding, or
glue/adhesive (I hate the term glue!)technique that is undetectable
if some one goes through your hair with their fingers. Now strand-by-
strand (fusion/adhesive)should be so small that it is undetectable
by touch if someone were to run their hand over your head. If you
husband is feeling every extension just by smoothing your hair, then
your tips are WAY TO BIG

Another thing Lisa, also is that you want to be careful which
shampoos and conditioners you use on the hair. Not all shampoos and
conditioners do the same thing. Some strip the hair, some provide
volume and the ph balance has to be correct also. There are a lot of
things to consider when looking for shampoos to help with dryness.

I have been a freelance extensionist/stylist, specializing in the
strand by strand technique, for about 8 years now and still I am
learning new techniques and information. The hair business is an
ever growing ever changing business. We stylist are always or at
least should be taking classes or going to hair shows to learn, see,
buy, read, and invest in your craft.

My advice to ANY ONE, who wants to try any techique on your hair. DO
SOME RESEARCH! The Internet is the worlds biggest Library of free
material to read 98% of the time. Google is a great search engine!

Much Success!

P.S. Daniela, I would like to touch bases with you if you don't
mind. I am planning a trip to London in April to visit some friends.
I would be nice to meet a fellow extensionist! I have clients in
Amsterdam and Rotterdam where I did extensions for 4 years.

trade years ago and I can say the quality of the hair used will be
the cause of the dryness..it has taken me ages to find a good
supplier that I use on myself as well!

best way to apply hair as it does not damage the hair and are easily
removed when need be. Other methods are weaving but, this works best
on black hair as european hair is too smooth and it will slip. The
way you can get around it is doing very very small bonds that you
can feel but are not as obvious.

you. It sounds to me that they have used remy hair as european hair
does not become this dry. If you need to condition the hair however,
I use Aussie miracle. Either Smooth mate or the lighter daily one
(be sure not to apply conditioner to the bonds). I have naturally
dry hair and this really does work as it leaves the hair shiny.
