Re: extensions that you can't feel

Hi Dee,

I just popped into your website and saw you're from Rochester --
which is where I lived for 4 years (but that was 10 years ago!)
Small world!

I have been trying to do lots of research, but I feel that it is
difficult to see who is impartial, because lots of people giving
advice also do extensions, and of course they do the particular
procedure they do because they feel it is the "best" way -- and
others are doing different procedures, also feeling that their way
is "best" -- and I can't figure out which way is the "best" for my
hair!!!! Some things seem clearly to be trouble, like this hair
that has the cuticles running both ways (even we non-pros have seen
all those magnified hair cuticles on various ads to see how this
would be bad). My extensions don't look bad after six weeks -- I
can just tell that they are drier than my own very healthy, shiny
hair, and are easier to tangle/snag and then hairs come out when I
untangle.

The bigger problem is that when my hubby (or myself) just runs a
hand over my head, we can feel these "nodes" where the extensions
are connected. They weren't pre-done -- the woman clipped some
hairs off of a couple of bundles (pony tail looking bunches) of
hair, and then mixed them with the adhesive, etc. So I suppose she
had some control over the size of them (this sounds like hand-made,
nt pre-made). But I am not sure what to expect, since this is my
first time -- maybe they are perfectly done, and my expectations are
too high. I *was* thinking that when I go back I would ask them to
put the first row a little deeper (more hair on top), because I am
worried that someone stanind behind me (as in a line or queue) could
see them if they were looking, as my own hair is so fine, and I can
easily feel them.

I will email you off-list about hairs types *not* to use -- thanks
for offering to share your information!!

Lisa
