Re: [hairgroove] extensions that you can't feel

Hello,

I am a freelance extensionist in central London. I too, 2 years ago had
extensions by connect. I too had problems with knotting and dryness with their
extensions. This is what inspired me to learn the trade years ago and I can say
the quality of the hair used will be the cause of the dryness..it has taken me
ages to find a good supplier that I use on myself as well!

I can recommend a few things you can do...separate the hair so that the bonds do
not tangle, make sure that you go in for regular maintenance so that your
extensionist can check your bonds and repair them if need be.

I understand the frustration with resin bonds but, they are the best way to
apply hair as it does not damage the hair and are easily removed when need be.
Other methods are weaving but, this works best on black hair as european hair is
too smooth and it will slip. The way you can get around it is doing very very
small bonds that you can feel but are not as obvious.

Also, ask your extensionist the type of hair they have used on you. It sounds to
me that they have used remy hair as european hair does not become this dry. If
you need to condition the hair however, I use Aussie miracle. Either Smooth mate
or the lighter daily one (be sure not to apply conditioner to the bonds). I have
naturally dry hair and this really does work as it leaves the hair shiny.

I hope that I that helps in your endeavour for fab hair!

Do contact me if you need more advice

Regards
Daniela

Hi all,

I'm new here, and I currently have extensions for volume (my first
time - I'm european and my own hair is quite fine and about down to
my bra strap) that are glued by a place in London called Hair
Connect. I am not having serious difficulty, but it has been about
six weeks and this hair is getting drier and drier and more prone to
knots (I suppose that is natural).

So I have two questions:

I am wondering if there is a type of extension where you don't have
these hard bits of bonded glue or whatever that can be felt on your
head. I would be interested in trying something that my husband
couldn't feel was in there. Is there anything like that available?

And secondly can anyone recommend a great conditioner for what I
currently have?

Thanks in advance!

Lisa
