Hi All~Dreddy Deb here :). I have a question that I hope one of ya'll
can help me with. I create & sell "hippy" style patchie clothing. I
model them on a splendid antique dress form (her name is Antiqua)~Well
I've decided that Antiqua really needs mor the just a hat on her bald
head. So I have been searching out cheapo wigs on ebay~as it's just a
prop I don't want to spend big $$$ on it~Do you think I can dred it up
(the wig that is). Short of trimming some of my 7 year dred growth
(NOT!!) this wig idea was the best idea I could come up with. What do
ya think?? Any help, info or pointers would be much appreciated. Have
a beautiful day. Hugs & Smiles, Dreddy Deb
hi dreddy and everyone else.
again another sorry that i've not been around much lately - i'm still
not well, but luckily have now been referred to a specialist appt
tomoro!
as for the dreaded wig idea - it would depend what the wig was made of.
if it was human hair then anyone that does dreadperms could dread it
for you or if its of the proper synthetic then synth dreads could be
created as well.
or have you thought of colinette yarn?
hope you all have a nice night/day (depending on timezone!)

I have no idea what draws people to yahoogroups. I own several groups
about rare topics in which hardly anybody is interested, I mean, one
is about Sansevierias, a houseplant. we have perhaps 150 members of
whom fifteen post a zillion times a day.
myspace is a place i cannot feel comfortable. I keep forgetting my
name and password for it.
The other thing is, i am the only person I know up close and personal
who has dreads! and many of my friends HATE THEM. Although i must
say, the public reaction is very positive and vocal! it could be and
is that all of my friends have rather conservative appearance, and I
did not PLAN it this way, nor would I, actually.
this has turned into a question of depth and inner searching for me.
hmmmmmm. what should you do.....I am myself in a business I created
which has a self-limited kind of appeal.
I am going to ponder this.
is there a section within yahoogroups on beauty and hair? do they not
offer categories in which one may promote ones self?

what is facebook? Yahoo has become increasingly crazy.
ohh lordie,, you sound like me a year ago. facebook is HUGE!, when you join,
free.. it gives you the option to scan your e-mail addresses, and will find
everyone in your address book and tell you if they are on there already,
basically if you lost touch with anyone, you can find them if they are on
face book.
it is a meeting place, your own web page and you control who can see your
web page, everyone, no one, friends only ect..all my family is on it, and i
contact my class mates thru it, my family in nova scotia are on and the ones
in england ect it is adictive, because you can put programs on your page
lke, song applications, pets, book shelf ect..

Hmmmmmm...........Dreddy Deb here :). I love Myspace. But I also had a group
on Yahoo. It was PLAGUED with hackers who would send SPAM using my yahoo
group. Thye would also corrupt my email so I couldn't even log on & usually
ended with a phone call to yahoo support to fix it....but never the less
even with all the "approval" to the group & me supposed to be notified of
any new member (which was only supposed to be thru my invitation)They found
a way past that also. There for I deleted my group and gave up on yahoo
except to still belong here to Hair Police. Myspace is fun & easy to use.
Never been to facebook (or whatever it is)~but if you move Hair Police there
I'd love to be part of that group (even though you haven't heard much from
me :(~except for the wig/dred question). Oh well I guess that's my imput.
But I hope hair police continues where ever it ends up & I can still be a
part of it. Thanx sooo much :). HUgs & Smiles to all! Dreddy Deb
PS~That's also my myspace "handle" ~hope to see some of ya there :)~love to
add ya as my friend :)

i have to agree with you hermine - yahoo has become such a hassle to
run the group on and it feels so quiet here now - i'm sure everyone has
migrated to facebook. if i do start a group there i'll post a link on
the grup here and also do an administrator mailing...

I came across a tutorial on how to dred a wig the same day I found this
group... very nice, pictures and everything. I'm not sure where it
was... I'll keep looking. Sections of the wig were backcombed and
twisted and roughed up, and additional bits of synthetic hair were
threaded through the netting at the scalp for more...more.
Do you already have locks? Or do you have relaxed hair and want to see how
locks would look?

I have the finest straightest hair in the world, to which are
attached fake dreads. they are so much better than any hair I could
ever grow. if I grew dreads they would be like TOOTHPICKS. this way I
have a hugh head of rasta hair in terriffic colours wash and wear!
