Hello Everyone,
I was really hoping this was not true. But I found
their official website and I wanted to throw up.
http://www.huntingforbambi.com/
I'm thrilled that people want to do something about
this. But we have to be honest. Writing a letter and
asking them to stop it is not going to work - We are
not their voters, they won't listen to single
individuals out of their voting district.
How can we really be effected, who live outside of las
vegas? What would make them act?
1) If it's true for you, tell them that you are not
going to come to Las Vegas and they have lost our
tourism money and we are telling friends not to come
to Las Vegas until they have a safe environment for
women.
2) If we are trying to work from outside las vegas, we
have to be a big group and bring media attention (and
shame) to the decision makers to stop the business,
they are *not* going to do it out of the goodness of
their hearts.
What realistically can the Mayor do?
If we get the place to shut down, it will just move to
another location. We have to get this type of
"activity" (lack of a word to describe it) banned or
made illegal everywhere. Since the idea is out
there...there are going to be more places expanding to
other locations. I don't even know how this kind of
thing is legal in the first place.
We have to start within Las Vegas.
Local Movements - Are there any non-profit for women
who are doing something about this? Do they know about
this?
We need education - What are the laws with paintball?
Is it legal to participate without gear? (Hey, you
couldn't arrest gangsters for murder but we got them
on Tax fraud) We need to know the names of other
officials in their area. I don't know anything about
the Mayor, are we sending letters to a guy with deaf
ears?
We need a home base - From my personal experience, it
frustrates me to be told something awful and not know
where to find out more information or where to find
out updates on the situation and what more I can do it
help.
I'm not going back to that site but we need to know
how long it has been in existence and has anyone tried
to shut it down? Why did they fail?
It can't be just us. We need to recruit the LA
business associations (who are losing money because we
are not coming) and men - yes, we need the hunters to
say this is not something that real hunters want to do
but it's a violent act specific towards women. We will
have a million times more luck working with men.
Alright, I'm almost done rambling. Sending a single
letter or at best a couple hundred letters from around
the states is not going to cut it. We don't count to
the officials, we don't vote there, they have no fear
of losing their jobs from our letters.
How to affect them?
1) Tell them that they will lose money because women
will not go to a place that supports this type of
business.
2) National public shame is our best bet - there are
too many problems in the world, Politicans are not
going to shut it down because it's the right thing to
do....they need to be forced to be held accountable.
3) We need to be organized and educated. We need to
organize the facts, have a homebase and recruit as
many people as possible to participate.
Okay, now I'm really done rambling, I don't know where
all of this came from... I'm so angry that this type
of place is allowed to exist.
