How do I get more lenght?

Hey guy's I just joined.

I have a full beard about 31/2 years of growth. I keep losing all the longer
hair and it seems to not want to grow beyond the 6 to 8 inch lenght it currently
is.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get additional lenght? I really don't
know much on the subect of beards.
