As I made my final pass through hundreds of vendors that participated in this
years'
Green Festival, a wheel of fortune caught my attention. It happens every time,
once I am
certain I have seen all there is to see, BAM! I pass by an unfamiliar table and
vendor.
Even with friends waiting for me on the outside, I could not resist a chance to
spin this
wheel and sure enough, great things come to those who wait… I was a winner!
I won a Charter membership to Green Career Central, an online resource for green
businesses. Because I was attending Green Festival on behalf of my new business,
My
Girlfriend's Doula, the timing could not have been better! Not only was I
bringing home
valuable health and wellness information to clients… but now I was also bringing
home an
online community of business owners to help ensure a sustainable practice.
`Green business and sustainable practice?' you wonder. Prior to this event, I
would have
wondered too. But after spending three amazing days at Green Festival… it all
made
sense. `Green' is more than just a color; it also means safe, healthy
communities and
strong, local economies.
From benefits of organic/fair trade chocolate and safe movements for your daily
exercise
routine to simple ways to build mindfulness and resilience, my bookshelves are
overflowing with information I am eager to share.
Today I would love to share with you Metro's Green Cleaners, a guide to simple
cleaning
recipes that are safe for your home and family... http://www.metro-
region.org/index.cfm/go/by.web/id=1400 (If you prefer a paper copy, please just
send
me your address and I will get one in the mail for you!) Of course, My
Girlfriend's Doula is
not just about fun and informative mailings. One aspect of My Girlfriend's Doula
is
wellness coaching. As a Certified Wellness Coach, I am able to provide
individuals and
families with the education, support and resources for lasting improvements in
health and
well-being.
Take care,
Stephanie Antoinette Horace
