April 2006 Newsletter from Gojuryu.net
Onegaishimasu,
Mina-sama, sorry for getting the April Newsletter out a bit late,
something is always strange about April. This tends to be the time that
people begin to lag from showing up to training. Dropping their New
Years resolutions, finally recoving from the Holiday season or giving in
to pressure. This is the time we should support eachother, students,
Sensei and friends to keep up the pace and remind eachother to go
forward - move ahead. So "Damatte Keiko" [Shut up and train].

Dojo in the spotlight.
For the March 'Dojo in the month,' comes....... "The Family Karate
Center" in Spokane Washington. Led by Gene Villa Sensei of the IOGKF,
The Family Karate Center is dedicated to making your martial arts
experience enjoyable and satisfying, not to mention has a strong dojo.
Congratulations !!!
Gojuryu.net Dojo Database going strong.
For Gojuryu Dojo only. We've been getting many of the old Dojo listings
back online and it isn't easy so this is where your input comes in.
Existing members, go to your user profile and fill in all of the blank
spaces. The Dojo Database and the user profiles are one and the same. If
you already have a user profile and want your Dojo listed separately
then keep your user profile [for use in the forums] and create a new one
for your Dojo. The Dojo Database & user profile is fully index
searchable via the search page.
Knowledge and tradition.
We've all heard the command Seiza; to kneel down in a seated position.
Seiza has a proper execution and an improper execution. Such as it's
improper when people slap their Gi at Kiotsuke or Rei - there are
improper things you should not do. To sit Seiza, first stand at
attention......read more here
<http://www.gojuryu.net/viewpage.php?page_id=39> . Next comes how to sit
relaxed or better yet, lets stick to the traditional words, to sit Hanza
- you should bow out from Seiza first because Seiza is a more formal
seating. Oh yeah, Hanza, to sit comfortably.
Aditional site updates:
User Profiles is the Dojo Database. For Gojuryu Dojo only the user
profiles area is an advanced listing to search for dojo or individuals
in your area, a place you may soon visit or recommend to someone you
know. It's only usefull if your profile has been filled in and no need
to worry as we have our spam deterrents all over the website so your
information is protected.
Calendar and events.
Well, last month we sent a note with the news letter that our calendar
was looking a littly shabby and this month - 40 new events. Just about
everywhere in the world you can find something to do with Gojuryu. Take
a look and let us know what ya think. Event Calendar
<http://www.gojuryu.net/infusions/event_cal/index.php> . Also, in the
last newsletter we announced an interest in placing the entire calendar
into the newsletter however this seems a bit impossible as the
newsletter would then be huge - full of HTML and unappreciated by you
the users so, to keep it easy we've simply put in the link.
If there is anyone we may have missed in this email - newsletter that
should have received it, please feel free to forward it to them or send
us a return note letting us know where to send it should go.
Well everyone, 'till next month - from all of us at Gojuryu.net, the All
Gojuryu Network, thanks for your continued support.
Arigato Gozaimashita.
