Hi guys, I recently finished a video. The main emphisis of it is
fighting from the clinch position. The clinch position is when you
and your opponent are standing and and are holding like in boxing
when the referee calls break. This position is one of the safest
positions to be in because it slows down the action. In a real fight
it is hard to think clearly especially when someone is trying to
knock your head off. When you obtain the clinch position it allows
you to control your opponent and valuable time to get your head
straight and realize you are in a fight. I start off be showing you
how to close the distance defensively (this is when your opponent is
trying to strike you) and offensively (this is when you use strikes
to distract him). Once you learn how to close the distance you will
learn how to control your opponent in the Thai-clinch, over-under
clinch, and bearhug clinch. Then you will learn how to effectively
use knee strikes, elbow strikes, chokes, and takedowns. The next
half is dedicated to self-defense against common holds including
chokes, bearhugs, headlock, full-nelson, and collar grabs. This
video would be an excellent supplement to any Martial artists
repitore. What do you guys think? What range do you like to fight
from the most? Next time you spar try clinching your opponent. This
will add a new dimension to your sparring.
