I give myself a B12 injection every 3 months and feel noticeably better afterward. My GI office told me that most insurance plans cover the B12 itself ($11.99 at Walgreens), but not the cost associated with someone injecting it. Therefore, a nurse in the office I go to teaches patients how to self-administer. I'm not good about taking vitamins everyday, so this method works well for me.

Hi,
Is there anyone on here that takes vitamin B-12 shots? Any opinions on
them?

I had a severe B-12 deficiency when first diagnosed so I had to have them 2x
a week for 6 weeks and it did give me more energy.
Now, my doctor seems to give me it whenever I come in and not feeling up to
par--as a preventive measure--I think.
Most insurance won't cover it--I think it was $15.00 a shot.
