COMMERCIAL: Earn CM and COC Points at Fall ACGIH® Educational Events

ACGIH® is pleased to announce that it is taking registrations for the following upcoming fall courses, symposia, and workshops.

 

Exposure Control: Industrial Ventilation and HVAC in San Diego

 

By popular demand, ACGIH and D. Jeff Burton have combined the popular

Fundamentals in Industrial Ventilation and Practical Applications of Useful

Equations to bring the industry another stellar industrial ventilation course. 

Held August 30 – September 2 in San Diego, California, this 4-day

comprehensive and interactive course covers basic and advanced topics

related to ventilation. The course includes classroom presentations, labs,

hands-on exercises, and team activities.

At the end of this 4-day course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand and apply ventilation principles.
  • Understand the basic estimation techniques and calculations related

to industrial ventilation and HVAC.

  • Understand terms and units used in estimations and formulas.
  • Use the preprogrammed AutoCalc calculator to perform calculations.
  • Understand the important role of characterizing emission sources,

employee behavior, and air movement.

  • Select, operate, manage, and maintain appropriate industrial ventilation

systems.

  • Design and model simple industrial ventilation systems.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and correct deficiencies in existing ventilation

systems.

  • Determine the amounts of air needed and/or being delivered to a space.
  • Characterize a space for ventilation needs.
  • Understand current regulations, codes, and standards of good practice

related to ventilation.

  • Review the designs of others using state-of-the-art AutoCalc design

procedures.

  • Prepare for certification exams.
  • Speak knowledgeably with others regarding ventilation.

 

Upon completion of this course, The American Board of Industrial Hygiene

(ABIH) will award 4.0 Certification Maintenance Points and the Board of

Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) will award 2.0 Continuance of

Certification  Points.

 

 

 

Mold, Moisture and Remediation Workshops

 

ACGIH is again offering its extremely popular Mold, Moisture and

Remediation Workshop at its Professional Learning Center in Cincinnati,

Ohio on the following dates in 2004:

 

~  September 13-16

~  October 11-14

~  November 8-11

 

Taught by the country's leading experts, this 4-day workshop presents

attendees with practical hands-on information and in-depth experience

regarding mold remediation methods, as well as a clear plan and strategy

for sampling that can be implemented in the workplace.  Each workshop

participant receives:

 

-  Hands-on Demonstration of Sampling Techniques and Analysis

-  ACGIH’s Bioaerosols: Assessment and Control

-  Presentation Workbook

-  CD-ROM of Case Studies

 

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene will award 4.0 Industrial

Hygiene Certification Maintenance Points upon completion of this

workshop. The Board of Certified Safety Professionals has approved

this workshop for 2.0 Continuance of Certification Points.

 

 

Enzymes in the Workplace: Strategies for Minimizing Health

Effects Symposium

 

ACGIH, the ACGIH Threshold Limit Values for Chemical Substances

(TLV®-CS) Committee, and the Symposium Task Force invite you to

be a part of the Enzymes in the Workplace: Strategies for Minimizing

Health Effects Symposium scheduled for September 29-30, 2004 at

the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio. This two-day

Symposium will explore vital health effects exposure and many other

issues relating to enzymes in the workplace. The Symposium will consist

of plenary sessions and roundtables, and will offer an extensive technical

presentation of current scientific data focusing on the numerous and

complex issues of health effects resulting from enzymes exposure.

 

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene will award 2.0 Industrial

Hygiene Certification Maintenance Points upon completion of this

Symposium. The Board of Certified Safety Professionals will award 1.25

Continuance of Certification Points upon completion of this Symposium.
