I recently learned that a former friend and colleague had passed away at
a relatively young age due to mesothelioma.  The question was posed to
me if I was aware of any other hygienists (or related practitioners) who had
also contracted this horrible illness.   I am not aware of anyone personally
but I pass this question to the collective experience of the list members.
