Earn CM and COC Points at Fall ACGIH® Educational Events
ACGIH® is pleased to announce that it is taking registrations for the following
upcoming fall symposium and workshops.
Mold Remediation: The National QUEST for Uniformity Symposium
In the last five years, no other subject has propelled the indoor environmental
industry into the national spotlight the way mold remediation has. Residential
projects gone awry, home insurance policies being canceled, lawsuits settled in
the millions of dollars, and the imposition of federal and state legislation are
just a few of the major developments that have forever changed the way we view
and handle mold and microbial contamination.
The industry itself has also changed. When ACGIH® and the ACGIH® Bioaerosols
Committee first published its precedent-setting guideline for the evaluation and
assessment of bioaerosols (Bioaerosols: Assessment and Control), there were few
documents that addressed mold remediation, and even fewer professionals
specifically trained and certified to perform the tasks. Today, there are many
guidelines and certification programs for mold remediation, but given the lack
of science in this area and the disparity between organizations, it's tough for
professionals to know just where to turn for reliable information and guidance.
ACGIH®, the ACGIH® Bioaerosols Committee , and the Symposium Task Force invite
you to be a part of a unique groundbreaking Symposium. MOLD REMEDIATION: The
National QUEST for Uniformity will be held November 3-5, 2003 at the Royal
Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando® in Orlando, Florida. The Task Force has
brought together the top governmental, organizational, and industry
professionals in an attempt to fill in the gaps of information and resolve the
conflicts that prevent uniformity. The Symposium will also bring groups,
agencies, and professionals together to formulate the basis of a forthcoming
ACGIH® document on mold remediation.
The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) will award 3.0 Certification
Maintenance (CM) Points upon completion of this Symposium (Approval #03-280).
The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) will award 1.5 Continuance of
Certification (COC) Points upon completion of this Symposium.
