Hello Adrian!
That is an amazing webforum. I have taken the liberty and 'cross-posted' it
onto AIHA International Affairs Committee's technical mailing list --
nicknamed GlobalOccHyg List.

Over the last couple of years several Occupational Hygienists working
for various multi-national companies, have been meeting informally to
discuss some of the common challenges they face in providing suitable IH
resources in certain places within their organisations.
In some parts of the World competent, qualified hygienists are a scarce
commodity, and the use of expatriate resources to fill the gaps can only
really be considered as a short to medium term solution.
The group, agreed that the optimum solution was to work with all the
occupational hygiene discipline's stakeholders - professional bodies,
training providers, industry & academia in setting up internationally
recognised and transferable qualifications based upon a modular training
course approach similar to those currently provided through the British
Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) in the UK.
Following an initial workshop held last December at the 2006 conference
of the (AIOH) on the Gold Coast, the group are holding a further session
at this years BOHS Conference in Glasgow.
The session will see presentations from the faculty as well as members
in industry but will focus on a structured debate of the issues
concerned. We value everybody's opinion and as such we are looking for
questions or comments in advance of the meeting. Whether you can make it
to the meeting or not please send your questions to me off list.
The group has a file sharing facility on the web from which the current
version of the discussion document can be downloaded and
questions/answers can be displayed. Please contact me off list for
details of how to get access.
